So the other morning I realised I’d used up my Urban Decay De-slick Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray so as promised here’s my review on it!
What Urban Decay claim the product will do for you;
De-Slick mists on weightlessly to control oil, deflect surface shine and keep skin looking beautifully matte. High-tech ingredients help keep foundation, shadow and blush from smudging, sliding or fading – so you hardly ever need to touch up.
Do I agree with Urban Decay’s claims? Yes, I would say I do. This setting spray is most definitely weightless, deflects shine and keeps skin matte. Once sprayed onto the skin it feels a bit weird as your face is obviously wet, but wait a few minutes and it’ll have sunk into your skin leaving you with a matte finish! After I’ve applied this over the top of my makeup it seems to make the makeup look more natural as it prevents you from looking cake-y.
Also, if you were to apply this product as a base to your makeup (which I sometimes do) you will be left with mattified skin, which for us with oily skin can only be a positive. This makes for a PERFECT base for face makeup!!
So, by now you’re probably wondering if this setting spray does actually prolong the wear makeup? My answer to this would be YES. For me, when I use this spray (as claimed) I don’t need to touch up throughout the day. If I were to apply my makeup in the morning, go out and about during the day & return home my makeup will be as if I’d just applied it. However, if I’m going out on the night I’d probably feel the need to at least powder my t-zone, but not re-do my makeup altogether! So the claim “you hardly ever need to touch up” is true in my opinion as for me I only really need to powder once (maybe twice at the most if the weather’s warmer).
I hope this post has been helpful, if you have any more questions feel free to ask them in the comments below 🙂
Lots of Love, Natasha ♥
