Hi beauties. ☼
Finally, it’s time for the very anticipated review on the L’Oreal True Match Foundation. I have been using this foundation for a year or so now, even though this is probably only my second bottle (yes, it really does last a long time!!). So it’s safe to say I’ll be able to give you an honest & well-tested opinion of this foundation. I hope you find this review interesting or at least helpful! Lets begin…
What L’Oreal claim:
The silky texture of True Match blends seamlessly with the skin. It automatically adjusts to the texture of the skin to create a flawless finish. Oil-free and non-comedogenic.
Do I agree with L’Oreal’s claim? Yes, I definitely would agree. This foundation does have a silky texture as it is liquidy in consistency when pumped onto the back of the hand, I think this helps with the brilliant blendability as it does blend seamlessly & effortlessly into the skin!I don’t know whether it ‘adjusts’ to the skin, but the colour I use (N1) is a perfect match for me, so just make sure you choose the shade best for you! I agree that the foundation is oil-free & non-comedogenic (doesn’t cause blocked pores) as it lasts all day, with no need to touch up, even on my oily skin, it never feels cakey & doesn’t break me out 🙂
L’Oreal have created an amazing range of ’20 true to skin’ shades, these include warm, cool & neutral tones. How amazing are L’Oreal? For a high-street/drugstore brand it is a pleasant surprise, finally an affordable brand caters for ALL skin colours & tones 🙂
Application
To apply this foundation I use my Real Techniques Buffing Brush (click here for review) or my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, iI find both of these to apply the foundation like a dream. I use a stippling motion (with the brush or sponge) to blend in the foundation as this gives the most flawless finish. If I’m using the buffing brush I will then use small circular motions to buff out the edges of my foundation around my hairline, under the chin & down the neck. This foundation, being a very lightweight consistency, is applied effortlessly & to be honest, you could probably apply it without a mirror & still look flawless!!
What I think of L’Oreal True Match
This product retails at £9.99, it is definitely a steal at this price. L’Oreal True Match is a FAB foundation, especially considering it’s from the high-street. It lasts amazingly on the skin, I don’t feel the need to powder throughout the day (even with oily skin), it doesn’t cake up; even if you build it up (it can be as sheer or as opaque as you want it to be), & it is super easy to work with!
This would be a great foundation for anyone, whether you are starting out with makeup or you’re more experienced with makeup, it really is that good!
To me, it is pretty fragrance free, I cannot detect a strong scent & I hate scented face makeup. Its an all round winner!!
Overall, I would definitely rate this product 5/5. It has everything I look for in a foundation; perfect shade, lasts all day & is natural looking. It is pretty much a universal foundation, whats not to love about that? 🙂
