The Power of Makeup ❤

Hi beauties 🌞

After seeing Nikkie Tutorials’ ‘The Power Of Makeup’ video I was inspired to create my own makeup transformation!!:)
Nikkie wants to show how makeup can be fun, but these days it’s attached with a negative stigma. Her message to people who wears makeup is ‘have fun & don’t be ashamed!’

Watch Nikkie Tutorials’ video here.

Nobody’s perfect. We all have our imperfections!

The Power of Makeup

image

My makeup transformation above shows how I look without makeup (right) & how I look once I’ve applied a fair amount of makeup (left). I haven’t applied a ton, just a ‘summer look’ which is quite light on the skin!

image

Use makeup to enhance your features. Not mask them.
Every single one of you is beautiful. ❤

If you’d like to see how I created this look show me some love by liking or commenting on this post 👍

I challenge you all to do this. Its so fun to do but has such a strong message!

At the end of the day,  it’s your life. LIVE IT ❤

Lots of Love Natasha

Celebrity Makeup Looks

Collab: Taylor Swift ‘Bad Blood’ Inspired Makeup ❤

Hi beauties 🌞

I’ve collaborated with my beautiful twin beautifulbreakable on two different makeup looks from Taylor Swifts Bad Blood music video,  if you haven’t seen the video, you need to!!! 🙂 To see how Jess created her look below head over to her blog now!! ❤

image
Jess' Taylor Swift inspired look...

Anyway the look I chose to recreate was the one at the end where she’s sporting a ginger wig, bold winged liner & red lips…

image

If you’d like to know how I achieved this look, then keep reading..

Eyes

image

☆ I started off with the eyes to ensure no fallout ruined my face makeup.

☆ I used some sticky tape to create a sharp line;  position this just under your lower lashline as if it’s being extended!

☆ To achieve this eye look I only used shadows from the Sleek Au Natural Palette.

☆ I took the black shadow & marked out where I wanted the liner. Lining from the inner corner to the tip of the wing,  just carry on your lower lashline to create the wing, & stop at the tail of your brow! Also line the lower lashes.

image

☆ I then intensified & thickened the liner by going over it with more black shadow. You could use gel or liquid liner,  but I liked the look of shadow.

☆ Be sure to extend the liner into the inner corner too, to create even more of a feline eye!

image

☆ To add the sultry smokey look to this makeup I smoked out the outer corner of the eye with a dark brown shadow & the same black shadow used before!

☆ I also used the same dark brown to smoke out the lower lashline. Just keep smoking the sh** out of your eyes until your happy!

☆ I did apply black Kohl in my waterline and tightline after I did my base.

Face

image

☆ Once you’re happy with the eyes it’s time to perfect the skin! For my foundation I used my Revlon colourstay with my Real Techniques Buffing brush 🙂 but just use products you know work for you & suit your skin type.

☆ To hide any dark circles & imperfections I used my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. To set the face I used my trusty Rimmel Stay Matte powder 🙂

image

☆ To add some life into the face I applied my Benefit Hoola Bronzer as a contour & on my cheeks as a bronzer to warm up the face!

☆ Also to add some shape to the brows I filled in the tails with my ELF Brow Kit & set them with Benefit Gimme Brow.

image

☆ As the finishing touch I used my Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner in 24 red diva to line my lips. I then went over that with my Urban Decay Lipstick in ‘F-Bomb’.

Finished look…

What dya think? Not bad ey.. 🙂

Celebrity Makeup Looks

Hilary Duff ‘Sparks’ Inspired Makeup ❤

Hi beauties 🌞

So this was meant to get posted yesterday, but I was super busy & totally forgot…
So today I’ve got something different for you. A celebrity inspired makeup look 🙂 I’m thinking of doing an inspired look each week, so if you’d like to see that let me know! ❤

Anyway, today I’ve got a Hilary Duff inspired look, I’ve taken inspiration from her new music video ‘sparks’ 🙂 Click here to see the video.

image

Anyway onto the makeup look…
Base

image

Firstly I started off by priming my freshly cleansed skin with Benefit Porefessional. I let each product sink into the skin for a few mins before going onto the next.

After primer I move onto foundation,  to get a flawless base I decided to use my Revlon colourstay foundation, it feels lightweight yet offers amazing coverage.

To brighten the eye area I used my new love the Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer! Then to set it all in place I used my Rimmel Stay Matte powder 🙂

image

Cheeks

image

To bring back dimension to the face, as always, I used Benefit Hoola to bronze & contour my face. (‘Like’ if you’d like to see a post on how I contour/highlight!!)

As Hilarys eye makeup is quite subtle I made sure my highlight was quite strong & glowy, as I think this looks beautiful & fresh. So to do this I used my MUA Mosaic blush on a fluffy Real Techniques brush & applied it to the high points of my face!

image

Eyes

image

The eyes are pretty straight forward, tons of lashes & good strong brows. To achieve this look I used my Kiko VolumEyes Mascara & Maybelline Rocket Volume Mascara, these add volume & length 🙂 To make my eyes appear bigger & brighter I applied my Rimmel Kohl in White to the waterline.

For my brows I used my Benefit Gimme Brow,  I didn’t want a too heavy brow, but I wanted them to be defined!

image

Lips
Finally it’s the most important bit. The LIPS. Hilary had an amazing bright pink lip & I think this colour, Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Showy Flamboyante, is pretty similar!!

image

Here is the finished look…

Do you like this simple look with a pop of colour?

Disney

Disney Series: Belle!♥

Hi beauties. ☼

So when I asked which Disney Princess you’d like to see, Ariel & Belle won. As I did an Ariel inspired look last time, it’s time for Belles inspired look 🙂

If you’d like to know how to create this Belle inspired look then keep reading…

Base

base

As always I started off with a freshly cleansed face. To prime my skin I used MACs Prep & Prime (review will be up soon!!). I then went on to apply my Revlon Colourstay Foundation with the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. To conceal my under eye circles I used a small amount of Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, I tapped this into the skin using my ring finger. This is the most delicate finger & the warmth from your finger helps the product melt into the skin better 🙂

Eyes

eyesFor the eyes I wanted to keep the look simple so I decided to just use this quad from Avon, it’s the True Colour Mocha Latte Quad! I used the light pink shade all over the lid, I then took the light brown shade in the crease as a transition shade. To deepen the outer corners I sketched in a  winged sort of look to the outer corner & blended inwards but not past the half way point on my lid. To make this look even smokier, I used the metallic brown shade in between the pink & dark brown colours, this is so the colours transition nicely from light to dark. As this is how you achieve a great smokey eye!!

To emphasise the lashline I used my Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl in Black along the upper & lower lashline & the tightline. I drew a very thin line on the top & smudged it out slightly to add to the smokey effect! I then did the same to the lower lashline & carried the liner up towards the brow to create a cat-eye effect to the look. To open the eyes I applied my Rimmel Kohl in White to the lower waterline.

This wouldn’t be a flirtatious Belle look without fluttery lashes, so to top the eye makeup off I used Benefits They’re Real Mascara!

Brows, cheeks & lips

browcheeklipBrows

To start off with I combed through my brows with the Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara (medium deep), this gives quite a bit of definition so you could stop here. But to ensure my brows where nice & precise I went in with my brown brow pencil to fill in any sparse areas!

Cheeks

For the cheeks I kept it very simple, Belle always looks blushed in the films but not overly pink. So I went with a peach blush, the one I used was Natural Collection Blush in Peach Melba 🙂 I placed this on the apples of my cheeks (to find where this is, smile & it’s the high bit you get under your eyes!) & swept the colour back. I find this application method to be the most flattering.

Lips

To Complete the look I opted for a simple lip. I just decided to line my lips with my ELF Long Wear Lip Liner in Mauve Luxe!

Hair

hair

To make this look more polished I put my hair into a bun. I then added in a small rose hair grip into the back of my hair as this look wouldn’t be complete without a rose! I also pulled out some short strands of hair around my face to frame my face a bit!

wpid-img_20140803_154542.jpg

Here is the completed look. I hope you all enjoyed my Belle inspired makeup look! This is such a wearable look, either day or night, I think it’s timeless (very fitting for the Disney story!). Let me know what you think 🙂

Thank you for reading beauties, have a fabulous day! ☼

Lots of Love Natasha ❤

Get The Look: 50’s Inspired!♥

Hi beauties. ☼

If you follow me on instagram (if not, follow me @heyaitsnat) you’ll know that about a week ago I posted a picture of a 50’s inspired makeup look. I asked who’d like to see this look & it got quite a few likes so I took that as a yes. To be honest, I’d have done it anyway as I’ve wanted to do this for a while now but never got round to it 🙂

Inspiration photos…wpid-photogrid_1406395770393.jpgClick here for the website I found my inspiration pics on 🙂 Taylor Swift is also a huuuge inspiration when it comes to a look like this, as this is like her typical, everyday, makeup look 🙂

So I’m going to run through how I achieved my 50’s inspired makeup look. I really like how it turned out, I hope you do too…

1. I first start with a freshly cleansed, toned & moisturised face (for my morning skincare routine click here). As you can see my bare face is far from perfect, I have quite a lot of redness & dark patches. So lets begin & solve this problem…

wpid-20140725_194924.jpg

2. I started off by applying my L’Oreal True Match foundation, I didn’t apply concealer as I am going to do this after.I just wanted to get an even-ish coverage first before perfecting my skin later.

wpid-20140725_201441.jpg

3. I then went in with two light shades from my ELF palette all over the lid to brighten up my eyes.

wpid-20140725_201150.jpg

4. Using the same ELF palette I then mixed a light brown shade with a darker brown shade to act as a transition colour for the crease. As this is a 50’s inspired look there won’t be many shadows involved, just neutral colours to contour the eye a little.

wpid-20140725_201205.jpg

5. To darken up the crease & give a bit more definition I went in with my Hoola Bronzer with a fluffy tapered brush, from ELF. This just gives the look a bit more depth & dimension, which is fab for this style of makeup look!!

wpid-20140725_201324.jpg

6. This is what the eye looks like with subtle definition ready for the best part, the eyeliner!! I have slightly winged the shadow out to add to the cat-eye effect that we’ll be creating later in the look.

wpid-photogrid_1406395734532.jpg

7. Using my beloved L’Oreal Super Liner in Black Lacquer I lined my lash line & winged it out slightly at the edge. We all know how important a good cat eye was back in the 50’s! So practice, practice, practice girlies 🙂

wpid-photogrid_1406395674634.jpg

8. The picture I was inspired by had a sort of double wing look going on, so I just had to copy it, I loove it! To achieve this I used my Rimmel Kohl Pencil in White, make sure it’s sharp & draw a line parallel to the black one of the wing you just created. To define the double wing, add more black liner underneath the white. To do this I used my Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl in Black! To complete the eyes I then popped lashings of my Maybelline Rocket Volume Mascara on.

It didn’t go as well as I’d hoped. But for my first time, I was pretty pleased!

wpid-photogrid_1406395614165.jpg9. To finish the look I concealed my dark circles, blemished & redness with my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. I then set the base with my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Transparent. To add more life to my face I contoured my cheek bones using Benefit Hoola & to warm the face a but more I used my Natural Collection Blush in Peach Melba. For my brows I just kept them natural & set them with clear mascara.

No 50’s inspired look would be complete without a red lip, so I of coursed finished this makeup look off with my Topshop Lips in Screen Siren. I don’t know why, but these pics make it seem a pink-y red. I assure you it is a true red 🙂

Disney

Disney Series: Ariel!♥

Hi beauties. ☼

It’s that time of the week again where I show you how to get the look of another Disney character. Since both Ariel & Belle got 50% of the votes I chose to re-create Ariels look. I will do an inspired look for Belle next 🙂 In the meantime feel free to give me other character suggestions in the comments below!

p.s. all shadows used are from the same ELF Pallette (don’t know what it’s called, sorry)

wpid-20140712_201400.jpg

If you’d like to know how I achieved my Ariel inspired look, then read on…

wpid-20140712_201324.jpg

As always, I started off with a fresh face, which I had already toned & moisturised with Simple (for my morning skincare routine click here). I have also applied some concealer to my eyelids to act as a primer for the shadows I’m going to be applying!!

wpid-20140712_201450.jpgwpid-20140712_201624.jpg

I started off by applying this lavender blue-y purple to the lids, just upto the socket! I absolutely love this colour, it just screamed Ariel to me!

wpid-20140712_201755.jpgwpid-20140712_201858.jpg

I then deepened up the outer corners by applying this darker purple. This just adds dimension to the look, lets face it, it’s a beautiful colour!

20140712_20212820140712_202336

To brigten the inner corners I applied this gorgeous mint green colour, this wouldn’t be an Ariel inspired look without a pop of green in there somewhere 🙂

wpid-20140712_202605.jpgwpid-20140712_202639.jpg

To make the colour on my lower lash line pop I applied this white kohl liner at my bottom lashes. I then pushed a red shadow over the top & used the brush to smudge it out! I didn’t really like it as much, so I went on to apply liner…

wpid-20140712_203119.jpgwpid-20140712_203335.jpg

Since I didn’t like the red as much on the lower lashes I decided to smudge my purple Gosh liner into my waterline & lashline! I also applied my purple Rimmel liner into my tightline. To tie this look together I also applied my Maybelline One By One Mascara to my top & bottom lashes!

wpid-20140712_204154.jpgwpid-20140712_204232.jpg

To prep my skin I wanted to try out my sample of MAC Prep & Prime (like for a review!). For the skin I wanted a dewy, sort of ‘wet’ look to the skin, as Ariel is a mermaid!! I chose to use my L’Oreal True Match Foundation mixed with the Me Me Me Beat The Blues Highlighter, I absolutely adore this combo for dewy skin!

I then covered my under eye circles with the Maybelline Eraser Concealer & covered my blemishes with my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. For both these steps I used my Real Techniques Complexion sponge to blend these products into my skin 🙂

To set my t-zone in place I went in with my Rimmel Stay Matte powder with my Real Techniques Kabuki Brush, DUUUUR!!

wpid-20140712_220456.jpgwpid-20140712_204601.jpg

To complete my Ariel inspired look I of course filled in my brows, well lightly filled in, just where there were sparse areas! I used my ELF Eyebrow Kit, MUA Clear Mascara & RT Brow Brush. As most people associate the colour red with Ariel (because of her hair), I went for a bold red lip to complete the look 🙂

complete

So thats my finished Ariel inspired look. Make sure to follow me to continue this series with me, up next week is Belle. Also don’t forget to give me suggestions in the comments below 🙂

Thanks for reading beauties xo

Lots of Love Natasha ❤
