Date night makeup!!♡

Hi beauties ♡

Even before we had Rylie we, me & matt my fiance, found it hard to find time just for us. So now baby is here we are trying to make an effort every couple of months at least to have us time! Last week we went on our first date night since little man was born. So of course, I made an effort!🙂 I’m obsessed with how my makeup turned out so thought I would share it with you all 😘

If you follow my instagram you’ll have already had a sneak peek, follow me here! (I follow back)💜

For this look I just did my normal go to base, if you’d like me to do a post on my go to base routine comment below 🙂

I wanted to look like I’d made an effort but not spent ages, I love a smokey look so decided on this look, which I’m obsessed with!!

To start I used my Hoola bronzer in the crease of my eyes as a bit of warmth & definition. I then went in with a light & dark brown on the very outer corner of my eyes! Start by using the lighter brown to make it easier to blend the dark shade on top. Smoke out where you will be putting liner. Then once your happy go in with the darker brown to intensify the smokiness even more & to add dimension to the look. Don’t worry if it looks messy it comes together in the end.

I then used a black shadow along the lash line & roughly softened this for a smokey effect. Build up the shadows to your desired intensity of smoke, I left it quite soft & added winged liner to finish off the look! The winged liner really pulls the look together.

Since we are in autumn I decided that I was going to crack out my fave autumnal/winter lip! My matte liquid lipstick in the shade sensual!

This shade is my ALL TIME FAVE, I love it & really loved how it complimented this makeup look! Since the lip is dark I did use a liner first, applied the lippy & then blotted the excess off for a long lasting finish!!

Let me know if you like these shorter posts? Or do you prefer a more in depth tutorial style post?🙂

Love hearing your feedback!❤

Smokey Liner Sort’a Day!♥

Hi beauties. ☼

The other day I experimented with a different liner look. Here’s what I came up with…

image

It may seem very simple, which to be honest it is, but this smokey black shadow liner is very effective & something I don’t do a lot. It’s an easy/quick alternative to an intense winged liner 🙂

image

To achieve this look I just smudged black liner into my upper lash line, to do this I used an angled liner brush then blended it upwards to smoke it out. It creates subtle definition to the lashes, which for an everyday look, is gorgeous!!

image

The red lipstick I used was Topshop Lips in Screen Siren. I adore this colour & have found myself reaching for this & beguiled (dark burgundy shade) a lot these past few months 🙂

Let me know if you’d like to see a makeup tutorial on this look & I’ll be quite happy to film it for you ♡

Lots of Love Natasha

How To: Winged Eyeliner!♥

Hi beauties. ☼

How I do my winged liner has been highly requested, so I thought I’d do a step-by-step guide to show you how I get my ‘perfect’ winged eyeliner using my trust L’Oreal Super Liner in Black Lacquer (click here for a review) 🙂

Before I begin, I just want to say practice makes perfect, I used to suck big time at doing any liner, but after practicing & practicing I think I’ve finally got it. Although, I do still struggle with gel liner, so I’ve been trying to master this art too.

Anyway, let’s get started…

1.wpid-20140725_201855.jpg

To start with I’ll usually lay down a shimmer base onto my lid or just ensure the lids are powdered to make it easier to glide the liner on! I start by lining the outer corners of my eyes, just at the base of the lashes.

2. wpid-20140725_201926.jpg

Next I connect the line I just made to the inner corners of my eyes. I make sure this line is very thin, especially in the tear duct area! I rest my little finger on my cheek so I know I will achieve a straight, thin, line, as this supports the hand.

3. wpid-20140725_201939.jpg

I then like to map out where my wing will go. To do this I draw a straight line from the bottom lashes, angling towards the end of the brow. This is a good trick as it helps you get more even wings.

4. wpid-20140725_202005.jpg

After creating the ‘guide line’ for the wing, I like to connect it back to the liner I already did. To do this I place my brush at the top of the line (as seen in pic) & drag it to connect with the liner which was previously done. You should then get a triangle type shape like so.

5. wpid-20140725_202039.jpg

I then fill in the triangle which we have just created with the liner. Make sure the liner is right into those lashes, if not it can look a bit odd! When you have finished this step you have pretty much finished your liner. Obviously you just do the same to the other eye & you should get pretty even liner.

*REMEMBER: eyebrows are sisters not twins, it’s the same for your liner!!*

6.wpid-20140725_203009.jpg

If you make any mistakes just take a cotton bud (or q-tip) & lightly rub it over the mistake. The liner should come off easily without wetting the cotton bud (if it doesn’t come off, just wet it a tiny bit!).

7. wpid-20140725_203557.jpg

Once you have finished both eyes, look straight on in a mirror to make sure they look as even as you can get them. If not use the cotton bud step to neaten/even it up or use your liner to add more to whichever eye needs it.

I hope this step-by-step tutorial has been helpful for you. Let me know if it has or hasn’t, so I know what to change next time!

Also, let me know if you’d like me to film a more in-depth video tutorial on how I do my eyeliner. ☺

Lots of Love Natasha ❤

Get The Look: 50’s Inspired!♥

Hi beauties. ☼

If you follow me on instagram (if not, follow me @heyaitsnat) you’ll know that about a week ago I posted a picture of a 50’s inspired makeup look. I asked who’d like to see this look & it got quite a few likes so I took that as a yes. To be honest, I’d have done it anyway as I’ve wanted to do this for a while now but never got round to it 🙂

Inspiration photos…wpid-photogrid_1406395770393.jpgClick here for the website I found my inspiration pics on 🙂 Taylor Swift is also a huuuge inspiration when it comes to a look like this, as this is like her typical, everyday, makeup look 🙂

So I’m going to run through how I achieved my 50’s inspired makeup look. I really like how it turned out, I hope you do too…

1. I first start with a freshly cleansed, toned & moisturised face (for my morning skincare routine click here). As you can see my bare face is far from perfect, I have quite a lot of redness & dark patches. So lets begin & solve this problem…

wpid-20140725_194924.jpg

2. I started off by applying my L’Oreal True Match foundation, I didn’t apply concealer as I am going to do this after.I just wanted to get an even-ish coverage first before perfecting my skin later.

wpid-20140725_201441.jpg

3. I then went in with two light shades from my ELF palette all over the lid to brighten up my eyes.

wpid-20140725_201150.jpg

4. Using the same ELF palette I then mixed a light brown shade with a darker brown shade to act as a transition colour for the crease. As this is a 50’s inspired look there won’t be many shadows involved, just neutral colours to contour the eye a little.

wpid-20140725_201205.jpg

5. To darken up the crease & give a bit more definition I went in with my Hoola Bronzer with a fluffy tapered brush, from ELF. This just gives the look a bit more depth & dimension, which is fab for this style of makeup look!!

6. This is what the eye looks like with subtle definition ready for the best part, the eyeliner!! I have slightly winged the shadow out to add to the cat-eye effect that we’ll be creating later in the look.

wpid-photogrid_1406395734532.jpg

7. Using my beloved L’Oreal Super Liner in Black Lacquer I lined my lash line & winged it out slightly at the edge. We all know how important a good cat eye was back in the 50’s! So practice, practice, practice girlies 🙂

wpid-photogrid_1406395674634.jpg

8. The picture I was inspired by had a sort of double wing look going on, so I just had to copy it, I loove it! To achieve this I used my Rimmel Kohl Pencil in White, make sure it’s sharp & draw a line parallel to the black one of the wing you just created. To define the double wing, add more black liner underneath the white. To do this I used my Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl in Black! To complete the eyes I then popped lashings of my Maybelline Rocket Volume Mascara on.

It didn’t go as well as I’d hoped. But for my first time, I was pretty pleased!

wpid-photogrid_1406395614165.jpg9. To finish the look I concealed my dark circles, blemished & redness with my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. I then set the base with my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Transparent. To add more life to my face I contoured my cheek bones using Benefit Hoola & to warm the face a but more I used my Natural Collection Blush in Peach Melba. For my brows I just kept them natural & set them with clear mascara.

No 50’s inspired look would be complete without a red lip, so I of coursed finished this makeup look off with my Topshop Lips in Screen Siren. I don’t know why, but these pics make it seem a pink-y red. I assure you it is a true red 🙂

wpid-photogrid_1406395575470.jpgWhat do you think of my 50’s inspired makeup look?

I saw this picture had been posted by Wayne Goss (Goss Makeup Artist on YouTube) on facebook!
I absolutely loved it, it’s so true! A good eyeliner is never a quick task & took me years of practicing to perfect. I still have bad days, nobody’s perfect!

P.S. I have a huuuuge fashion haul post coming for tomorrow 🙂
