Makeup of the day

Monday MOTD: Stoplight Eye ❤

Hi beauties. 🌞

So I’ve been super super busy this week,  where has it gone? Time just seems to fly these days!!! I hope you are all well & haven’t missed me too much 😉

Due to my lack of posts I’m going to make sure I get back into the routine & create a blogging schedule. Don’t worry I’m still here. 🙂

Anyway, since it’s Monday I’ll be doing a Monday Makeup of the day (this is going to be a weekly thing!) ❤

So the other night I had a couple of hours free, so I decided to create a makeup look of the ‘Spotlight Eye’ trend. I really liked how it turned out;  so here it is…

Eyes
I started off by cleansing my skin, Iused a new product, Soap & Glory No Clogs Allowed Face Mask (review coming on Friday!). I then moisturised my face. To let that sink into the skin I decided to do my eyes before skin. 🙂

image

To even the skin tone on my eyes I used a bit of concealer. To set that in place I used the lightest shade in my Makeup Revolution Iconic 3 Palette (all shadows used are from this palette!). To create a transition through my crease I used a medium toned brown as my transition shade!!

image

To add more definition I just kept building the intensity of the medium toned brown all throughout the crease, even the inner part of the eye. Just make sure you leave the centre of the lid nice and bright! Hence the name, spotlight eye. 🙂

image

I decided I wanted to deepen the look further, so using the darkest matte shade in the palette I blended this through the crease from inner corner to outer corner.
Remember. Blend blend blend!!!!
To brighten the centre I reapplied the lightest shade and a small amount of the lightest shimmery shade. Keep this in the very centre for that strong focus on the eye!

image

Face
– L’Oréal True Match Foundation in W1
– Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 1
– Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in translucent
– Benefit Hoola Bronzer
– Catrice Blush
– Mua Highlighter in English Rose

image

Brows/Lips
– Maybelline Brow Drama in Medium Dark
– MAC Creme Cup – nude lip option
– Maybelline Colour Sensational Shocking Coral – bright lip option

image

I really loved how this looked in the end. 🙂

What do you think of the spotlight eye trend? ❤

Celebrity Makeup Looks

Competiton: House of Fraser Beauty Ambassador ❤

Hi beauties 🌞

As you can tell by the title this post is dedicated to the House of Fraser Beauty Ambassador Competition.. I heard about this from the lovely Nina of Ninarossbeauty 🙂

I know I posted this look not long ago, but I loved it so much I wanted to use it for my entry. As you all know Taylor is a massive inspiration for my makeup looks & outfits 🙂 So here it is, my Taylor Swift inspired makeup look…

image

If you’d like to know how I achieved this look, then keep reading..

Eyes

image

☆ I started off with the eyes to ensure no fallout ruined my face makeup.

☆ I used some sticky tape to create a sharp line;  position this just under your lower lashline as if it’s being extended!

☆ To achieve this eye look I only used shadows from the Sleek Au Natural Palette.

☆ I took the black shadow & marked out where I wanted the liner. Lining from the inner corner to the tip of the wing,  just carry on your lower lashline to create the wing, & stop at the tail of your brow! Also line the lower lashes.

image

☆ I then intensified & thickened the liner by going over it with more black shadow. You could use gel or liquid liner,  but I liked the look of shadow.

☆ Be sure to extend the liner into the inner corner too, to create even more of a feline eye!
The more cat like, the better!

image

☆ To add the sultry smokey look to this makeup I smoked out the outer corner of the eye with a dark brown shadow & the same black shadow used before!

☆ I also used the same dark brown to smoke out the lower lashline. Just keep blending & adding colour until your happy!

☆ I did apply black Kohl in my waterline and tightline after I did my base.

Face

image

☆ Once you’re happy with the eyes it’s time to perfect the skin! For my foundation I used my Revlon colourstay with my Real Techniques Buffing brush 🙂 But use products you know work for you & your skin type.

☆ To hide any dark circles & imperfections I used my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. To set the face I used my trusty Rimmel Stay Matte powder 🙂

image

☆ To add some life into the face I applied my Benefit Hoola Bronzer as a contour & on my cheeks as a bronzer to warm up the face!

☆ Also to add some shape to the brows I filled in the tails with my ELF Brow Kit & set them with Benefit Gimme Brow.

image

☆ As the finishing touch I used my Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner in 24 red diva to line my lips. I then went over that with my Urban Decay Lipstick in ‘F-Bomb’.

Finished look…

I hope you all love this look as much as I do 🙂

Smokey Liner Sort’a Day!♥

Hi beauties. ☼

The other day I experimented with a different liner look. Here’s what I came up with…

image

It may seem very simple, which to be honest it is, but this smokey black shadow liner is very effective & something I don’t do a lot. It’s an easy/quick alternative to an intense winged liner 🙂

image

To achieve this look I just smudged black liner into my upper lash line, to do this I used an angled liner brush then blended it upwards to smoke it out. It creates subtle definition to the lashes, which for an everyday look, is gorgeous!!

image

The red lipstick I used was Topshop Lips in Screen Siren. I adore this colour & have found myself reaching for this & beguiled (dark burgundy shade) a lot these past few months 🙂

Let me know if you’d like to see a makeup tutorial on this look & I’ll be quite happy to film it for you ♡

Beauty Blogger Of The Month Award!♥

Hi beauties. ☼

OH MY WORD. Am I dreaming? I’ve only gone & been nominated for the beauty blogger of the month award! This award was created by the beautiful Cecilia of ‘ceciliascorner’, Cecilia also nominated me for this amazing award & for that I cannot thank her enough. So a MASSIVE THANK YOU to Cecilia for nominating me, it really does mean a lot. Oh, and beauties if you’re not following her go FOLLOW her now her blog is fab!! 🙂

1. Where does your makeup inspiration come from?

Since I can remember I’ve always had a passion for makeup. For years I’ve been obsessed with watching beauty gurus on YouTube. Also, in my early teenage years I had quite bad spots & problematic skin, so makeup was a sort of comfort blanket for me!

2. What are 3 of your makeup Holy Grail products you cannot live without?

  • Some sort of base, if my skin is being good I may only wear concealer & powder, but if I’m having a bad skin day I’ll wear foundation.
  • Mascara, ALWAYS! Cannot live without it, I look so naked & squinty eyed without it (haha!)
  • Bold lippy, it just brightens your look & makes you look more polished & done.

3. What is your makeup signature look which you have on most of the time?

Big lashes (lashings of mascara, no falsies here!!), bold lipstick & contoured face.

4. Let us know your favorite makeup brands?

Maybelline, Revlon, Benefit, Rimmel & Sleek.

5. Your ultimate makeup pet peeve?

When people don’t blend eyeshadow properly or you can see the tightline of the eye lashes when wearing black liquid/gel liner.

6. You’ve heard about all the hype on this makeup item, bought it, tried it and don’t understand what all the fuss is about…Name that product!

Rimmel London’s Kate Lipstick collection, I really don’t get the hype. I hate the lipstick I bought from that collection, it has put me off Rimmel lipsticks altogether!

7. Concealer OR foundation ONLY for the rest of your life. Choose one and tell us the reason!

Concealer. If I could only have Collection’s Lasting Perfection Concealer for the rest of my life I’d be happy. I can usually get away with just applying this under my eyes & on any blemishes, powdering & I’m good to go! – it’s a miracle product.

My nominations

1. BeautifulBreakable

2. HenryFaceBeauty

3. NinaRossBeauty

4. Plus+Beauty

5. PsMeganElizabeth

6. RandomnessILike

7. IAmSereneL

So that’s the end of this Award post. Once again, THANK YOU to Cecilia for nominating me, to know I’ve got such amazing readers that love my posts means so much to me you wouldn’t even believe! ❤
