Makeup Revolution: Redemption Palette Iconic 3 Review & Swatches!!❤

Hi beauties 🌞

While I’ve been away I’ve purchased a few new makeup products. This Makeup Revolution London Palette is one of those things, no doubt other purchases will be reviewed in future posts!:)

I tried this palette out for the first time a week or so ago, but to give you guys a full, in – depth review I wanted to trial it a bit longer! So here are my thoughts…

image

Makeup Revolution London Redemption Palette Iconic 3
THE ultimate
palettes with ultra high payoff.

A perfect mix of pearl, shimmer and matte shades. Totally collectable and a pure sellout.

The iconic 3 palette retails for an amazing £4! Makeup Revolution is like MUA, which if your from the UK you’ll know is sold in most Superdrug stores. It is a very cheap brand, but for the prices the products are fantastic!! These eyeshadows are fabulously pigmented & are almost buttery to touch. 🙂

image

Texture
Some of these shades can come off quite crumbly, this isn’t a problem to me as I usually use concealer on the lids as a primer. To me this ensures the eyeshadow stays put as it grabs onto the concealer to set it!
The shimmer shades are more buttery, despite this they are all VERY pigmented & stay put all day!! Especially for their £4 price tag, what more could we ask for?!:)❤

Dupe?
It has been said by many YouTubers & beauty bloggers that this is a dupe for Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. Personally I don’t own the Urban Decay Palette but have seen swatches! The colours look very very similar, but the Urban Decay Palette retails for a steeper £37.

These shadows are not individually named, but Hey Ho! At least you get an idea of what these shadows look like once applied to the skin.
All I did was rub my finger in each colour once & apply it to my arm,  as you can see the pigmentation is astounding. I am very pleased with this palette & I can’t wait to do more looks with it! 🙂

Have you tried this palette or any other products from Makeup Revolution? If so,  what are your thoughts? ❤

Lots of Love Natasha

Nails

Ruby Ribbon!♥

Hi beauties. ☼

This is going to be a quick post, I’m currently writing more posts to be scheduled for when I’m on holiday (a holiday update will be up on the day I go, 04/08/14!).

I’m one of those people who really doesn’t like feet, so mine seem to get neglected. Earlier I realised how horrible my toe nails have started to look! I just haven’t done much to them, eek! You know the look of faded, cracked, old nail polish, right? Well my toe nails have been suffering for a while, so I decided to give them a treat & paint them again.

As it is very hot & sunny here in the UK I went with a very bright pink & a sparkly polish over-top on my big toe!

wpid-20140725_174931.jpg

The nail polishes I used were Revlon’s Ruby Ribbon & a Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine in Grapefruit. I LOOOOOOOOOOVE these two colours, the Ruby Ribbon looks surprisingly good over Grapefruit too 🙂

Que the horrible foot picture. Although I can say feet, well mine, look more appealing when the toe nails are painted!

wpid-20140725_175106.jpg

There you go beauties, I hope you can get a decent idea of how these colours look. They are such gorgeous colours on the finger nails too, it’s just I can’t wear polish for my job so I tend not to bother!

Let me know if you like to know what I have on my toe/finger nails. Also Comment below what you have on your toe/finger nails 🙂

Thanks for reading beauties xo

Lots of Love Natasha ❤

Hair

Review: La Riche Directions!♥

Hi beauties. ☼

When I had pink dip-dyed hair I got comments on saying how nice it was & how much you beauties like it. So today I thought I’d share with you what I used & how I got pink dip-dyed hair! 🙂

wpid-20140701_170304.jpg

Before I get into this post I just want to say that the colour intensity obviously depends on the colour of your hair already. As I dye my hair a lighter blonde anyway I had a good light base for the colour to go on to. However, if you have darker hair you may have to bleach it before hand to get an intense colour pay-off!

La Riche Directions Hair Colour is a semi-perminant hair dye, it comes in 34 shades which can also be mixed, so there’s a colour to suit EVERYONE 😀 The hair colour I chose was ‘Carnation Pink’, it is a muted pink colour, which does fade well as it becomes more of a candyfloss pink.

wpid-20140701_170310.jpg

Although this is a semi-perminant hair colour it did last very well in my hair, it probably stayed quite an intense colour for a couple of weeks before fading. Saying this though, I only was my hair 2-3 times a week. So if you’re someone who washes their hair everyday it’s obviously going to fade a lot quicker.

How to apply

I hold my hands up, the first time I had it done was by my twin sister’s friend at uni. So when I re-dyed my hair a month or so later with the same pink I just followed her method of doing it. This is how she achieved the dip-dyed look…

  1. Brush through the hair well so there’s no knots.
  2. Seperate the hair into two down the centre & tie a bobble at the point you want your dip-dye to start. Make sure the bobbles are even as this is the guide to wear you’ll apply the colour.
  3. Ensure the loose bits of hair are knot free & liberally apply the hair dye so each & every piece of the loose hair (below the bobble) is covered in dye.
  4. Then leave the colour on the hair for about 30 minutes. This ensures enough time for the product to adhere to the hair, the colour I used sort of stained my hair as it still hasn’t fully come out after a few months.
  5. Once 30 mins is up wash out the colour. I found it best to rinse the majority of the colour out by sticking the pigtail under the tap. Once the majority of the colour is out hop into the shower & rinse until the colour in the water becomes less & less. It may not become totally clear but that’s because its semi-perminant so you’ll most likely see a bit of colour in the water the next few times you wash your hair.
  6. Lastly, dry your hair (blow-dry or air dry totally up to you) & enjoy your new style 🙂

This was after I had dyed my hair first time. As you can see it’s very bright, but how cool did it look? I LOVED IT 🙂

By the way, I didn’t purchase my hair dye from the website as you have to buy it by the box & I only wanted one tub. I bought mine from eBay, just type ‘La Riche Directions hair colour’ into the search bar & a ton of different colours will appear – also it is so much cheaper from eBay.

I hope this post has helped to shed a bit of light on how I got my pink dip-dyed hair. If you have any further questions please ask, I’ll try answer them as best as I can 🙂

Have a lovely day beauties xo

Lots of Love Natasha ❤

Makeup of the day

MOTD!♥

Hi beauties. ☼

I wore this makeup look the other day & forgot to upload it, so here it is…

wpid-20140617_195444.jpg

I recreated a sort of wearable Maleficent makeup look as I loved that so much!

wpid-20140617_195406.jpg

I think this is such a gorgeous look, I especially think purple compliments green eyes, so yaaaay for that 🙂 This lip colour is also to die for, it’s a very neon bright pink, although these pictures don’t quite do it justice!!

What do you think of this look? Would you wear it?

Lots of Love Natasha ❤

Disney

Disney Series: Aurora!♥

Hi beauties. ☼

I’m aware I didn’t get my Disney post up last week, but I totally forgot & got so tied up in other things!

Don’t fret though, I’m going to be continuing this Disney Series. You all seemed to love my Maleficent post (click here to see how I achieved the look of Maleficent!) so I decided I’d definitely carry on the series!

Today I have for you an Aurora, Sleeping Beauty, inspired makeup look. I’m so excited for this, she’s my favourite Princess ❤

Anyway, on with the look beauties…base

As usual I started with a freshly cleansed face (first image), I used my Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish. I then toned & moisturised my skin with Simple (click here  for morning skincare routine).

1. I then went on to prime my face with the Gosh Velvet Touch Primer (click here  for review).

2. To even out my complexion I decided on a BB cream, this is the Rimmel Matte BB Cream – let me know if you want a review – my skin was quite good on this day so I didn’t need a high coverage foundation! I used the Real Techniques Buffing Brush to buff/stipple this into the skin.

3. To conceal any redness/blemishes I went in with my beloved Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in #1 fair. Needless to say, I love this stuff!!

4. To counteract my dark circles I went in with the Maybelline Eye Concealer. This is brilliant for highlighting your under-eyes, cheek bones & cupids bow (usually the places I like to use it!)

5. To set the base in place I used my good old Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Transparent!

6. As this is a look for Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), I just had to use blush, so I used my fave blush; Sleek’s Shimmer Blush in Rose Gold. It gives such a subtle amount of colour (which is buildable) & the most beautiful sheen to the skin.

eyes

1. For the eyes I started off by applying the Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo in Pink Gold all over the lid, I usually just apply these with my fingers as that’s the best way I’ve found to apply them to get the best pigmentation.

2. I then applied the Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo in Eternal Gold to the inner corners to brighten them up & to add a different touch to the look. Which I think makes it look extra Princess-y.

3. To blend the look together I blended the pink shade from my Maybelline Diamond Glow Coral Drama Quad into the crease with my Real Techniques Base Shadow Brush. This extra step adds more definition & dimension to the eye too!

4. To make the lashes look thicker & flirtier I created a thin line of liner on my lash line using the lovely L’Oreal Super Liner (click here for review)

5. To complete the eyes, I applied lashings of the Maybelline One By One Mascara! Seriously, how much difference does that make? LOVE IT!!brows.lips

1. Tame those brows girl! I started off by combing through mine with a spoolie.

2. I then decided to change things up a bit & use my brow pencil in light brown. I don’t know what make it is, it’s rubbed off as I’ve had it for ages, oops!

3. This wouldn’t be an Aurora makeup look without a bold pink lippy! I used Maybelline’s Colour Sensational Lipstick in 910 – Shocking Coral. Can I just say beauties, I’ve fallen in loveeeewith this colour again, it. is. gorgeous!!!

So here’s the finished look…endlook

I hope you liked my Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) inspired makeup look, I also braided the front of my hair to give it a more Princess-y feel.

OH YES! Before I forget, I have an outfit for this look too…

dress

I remembered I bought this dress a few months back for my holiday & thought it’d be perfect for this Aurora inspired look!

I really like how this look turned out. Let me know what you think below & as ever, thank you all for your time! 🙂

*sidenote* I know there’s A LOT of Maybelline products used in this look, but that was a total coincidence! This is in no way sponsored by them, all opinions are my own!

Lots of Love Natasha ❤

Spring/Summer Makeup!♥

Hi beauties.

Since the weather here in the UK has finally started to brighten up I thought it was about time I filmed a spring/summer inspired look, so if you’d like to check-out my video for this look below then click here, all products & brushes used are also listed in the describtion box of the video.

20140502_150333

Base

As always I started with a fresh, clean face (see my Morning Routine for more info) before appying any makeup on my skin. Before applying my foundation I used the Gosh Velvet Touch Primer, I then mixed together the L’Oreal True Match Foundation with the MeMeMe Beat the Blues Highlighter,  this is so I get a nice dewy finish to the look as the foundation itself sets quite matte!

To conceal my undereye circles I used Maybelline The Eraser (this also gives a nice highlighted effect under the eyes!). To conceal any blemishes/redness I used Collection’s Lasting Perfection Concealer, this concealer is a very full coverage & just about covers everything you wish to be covered.

To ensure my base doesn’t slip & slide everywhere throughout the day I ALWAYS set it with Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, I then used Benefits Hoola Bronzer (click here for my review!) and Sleeks Shimmer Blush in Rose Gold to bring back life to my face!

Eyes

As this is a spring/summer look I wanted to keep the eyes simple & natural looking, so I went for a neutral winged liner look. To create this look I used MACs Eyeshadow in Naked Lunch all over the lid and both matte brown shades from the Avon True Colour Eyeshadow Quad in the crease & blended it out. I love this neautral look as it makes my eyes appear brighter and more awake. To make this look a tad more dramatic (but wearable for the daytime) I used the L’Oreal Superliner in black to create a winged liner, I then used Rimmels Soft Kohl in white in the waterline and Maybellines One-By-One Mascara to brighten up my eyes further.

Brows

Although I don’t really need to fill in my brows on a daily basis as my brows are naturally quite full, I choose to, I prefer the look it gives as it ties any makeup look together! As I have full brows anyway I make sure to fill in sparse areas more than anything, for this I used my ELF Studio Eyebrow Kit and combed through the brows with a makeup spoolie!

Lips

YAY. The fun part!! So for the main feature of this look, the lips, I used Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in 220 Showy Flamboyante. This colour is absolutely gorgeous & just brightens up any look (for a swatch of the colour click here).

I hope you enjoyed this post, or at least found it interesting. If you did then don’t forget to like or tell me in a comment below, I love hearing your feedback! 🙂

I would also love to know what you guys are loving this time of year, so my question for you is ‘whats your favourite look for spring/summer?’

Thank you for your time, it really does mean a lot 🙂 xo

Real Techniques Core Collection

The Real Techniques brushes, designed by Samantha Chapman; a professional makeup artist known as one half of the Pixiwoo sisters on YouTube, first created the Real Techniques brush line to bring a professional finish to your makeup at home and from the high street. The Real Techniques ‘Core Collection’ is one of many collections Sam has designed specifically in mind to give an easy flawless finish to any makeup look, anywhere, anytime.

About the brushes

  • The Real Techniques brushes are made with synthetic bristles, making them extra soft, compared to other makeup brushes I’ve used, and easier to create a flawless look. With the bristles being synthetic it also means they’re cruelty free.
  • Each collection or individual brush is colour-coded, orange brushes are for a flawless base, purple for enhanced eyes and pink for the perfect finish. As well as each brush being colour-coded they are also cut to the perfect shape of your hand making them easy to grip, allowing precise application and therefore a perfect finish to your makeup.
So, we know a little bit more about these fabulous brushes, but if you are inexperienced with using makeup brushes you may be wondering what products are suitable to use with these brushes. The answer to that question is any, these brushes are suitable for any product; powders, creams, liquids, mineral makeup, highlighter, shimmer, etc. the list is endless. Yes, the brushes may be labelled but it doesn’t mean you can’t experiment and use them for a different purpose, for example; I own the blush brush but I use it to contour, the purpose of these brushes are so flexible you can use them to what suits you best and I think that is one of the amazing things about Real Techniques.
Real Techniques
Pictured above is the Real Techniques Core Collection; (from left to right) foundation brush, contour brush, detailer brush and the buffing brush.
The Core Collection retails at £21.99 here in the UK and were the first set of Real Techniques brushes I purchased about a year or so ago, to me this was the best choice as you have your face essentials in one kit. The Core Collection includes the 4 full-size brushes and the travel case;
  • pointed foundation brush: ideal for liquid foundation, the brush itself is quite small but allows for a precise application and is easy to use to build the foundation to your desired coverage.
  • contour brush: ideal for highlighter or bronzing powder to create a contour and soft finish to your makeup look.
  • detailer brush: a small precise brush which can be used for multi-purpose, e.g. conceal problem areas or use with lipstick to create precise, long-lasting definition and shape to your lips.
  • buffing brush: can also be used for liquid foundation, powders or mineral makeup, this brush creates a full coverage application.
  • the brush case is ideal for travelling or transporting your makeup brushes as it protects them and keeps them safe as well as doubling up as a stand (folds back on itself creating a stand).

My thoughts on the Core Collection

In my opinion the Real Techniques Core Collection is a very useful collection to have, especially if you are a massive fan of all things make up like myself. Not only are the brushes well designed, they’re also very well made. I have had my Real Techniques Core Collection brushes for over a year now, they have NEVER shed a single hair, they wash perfectly and are like brand new once washed, the best thing about them is that they are very affordable and worth ever penny as they are such good value for money.

It is safe to say that Samantha Chapman is a genius, she has brought the high street amazing products, and for people like me who are unable to afford high-end brands she has definitely delivered a high-end experience to our doorstep.

Overall I rate the Real Techniques Core Collection 5/5 as they live up to the hype, they deliver flawless results and are still going strong after more than a year of constant use. This also applies to the other Real Techniques brushes and collections, they are all designed and made very well. In my opinion; they are faultless.
