Disney Series: Belle!♥

Hi beauties. ☼

So when I asked which Disney Princess you’d like to see, Ariel & Belle won. As I did an Ariel inspired look last time, it’s time for Belles inspired look 🙂

If you’d like to know how to create this Belle inspired look then keep reading…

Base

base

As always I started off with a freshly cleansed face. To prime my skin I used MACs Prep & Prime (review will be up soon!!). I then went on to apply my Revlon Colourstay Foundation with the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. To conceal my under eye circles I used a small amount of Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, I tapped this into the skin using my ring finger. This is the most delicate finger & the warmth from your finger helps the product melt into the skin better 🙂

Eyes

eyesFor the eyes I wanted to keep the look simple so I decided to just use this quad from Avon, it’s the True Colour Mocha Latte Quad! I used the light pink shade all over the lid, I then took the light brown shade in the crease as a transition shade. To deepen the outer corners I sketched in a  winged sort of look to the outer corner & blended inwards but not past the half way point on my lid. To make this look even smokier, I used the metallic brown shade in between the pink & dark brown colours, this is so the colours transition nicely from light to dark. As this is how you achieve a great smokey eye!!

To emphasise the lashline I used my Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl in Black along the upper & lower lashline & the tightline. I drew a very thin line on the top & smudged it out slightly to add to the smokey effect! I then did the same to the lower lashline & carried the liner up towards the brow to create a cat-eye effect to the look. To open the eyes I applied my Rimmel Kohl in White to the lower waterline.

This wouldn’t be a flirtatious Belle look without fluttery lashes, so to top the eye makeup off I used Benefits They’re Real Mascara!

Brows, cheeks & lips

browcheeklipBrows

To start off with I combed through my brows with the Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara (medium deep), this gives quite a bit of definition so you could stop here. But to ensure my brows where nice & precise I went in with my brown brow pencil to fill in any sparse areas!

Cheeks

For the cheeks I kept it very simple, Belle always looks blushed in the films but not overly pink. So I went with a peach blush, the one I used was Natural Collection Blush in Peach Melba 🙂 I placed this on the apples of my cheeks (to find where this is, smile & it’s the high bit you get under your eyes!) & swept the colour back. I find this application method to be the most flattering.

Lips

To Complete the look I opted for a simple lip. I just decided to line my lips with my ELF Long Wear Lip Liner in Mauve Luxe!

Hair

hair

To make this look more polished I put my hair into a bun. I then added in a small rose hair grip into the back of my hair as this look wouldn’t be complete without a rose! I also pulled out some short strands of hair around my face to frame my face a bit!

Here is the completed look. I hope you all enjoyed my Belle inspired makeup look! This is such a wearable look, either day or night, I think it’s timeless (very fitting for the Disney story!). Let me know what you think 🙂

Thank you for reading beauties, have a fabulous day! ☼

How To: Deep Clean Your Brushes!♥

Hi beauties. ☼

Who else is lazy when it comes to washing their makeup brushes? Because I know I can be!! *tut tut*

As you may know I’ve been away with my sister this weekend, after taking brushes away with me I like to give them a deep clean. I was about to wash my makeup brushes & thought why don’t I make a blog post? so that’s what I’ll be showing you today! 🙂

What you need;

wpid-20140602_132701.jpg

This is easy-peasy, you’ll only need 3 things; some sort of oil, I like to use baby oil but you could use olive oil, any anti-bacterial handwash & a pot to mix them in!

First put about a tablespoon (don’t need to measure it) of the oil & a pump or two of the handwash into the pot, you can always add more if needed. The oil will deep clean the brushes, oil helps break down the product better, the anti-bacterial handwash will ensure your brushes are clean & sanitised. It is important that the handwash is anti-bacterial!!

wpid-20140602_132808.jpg

The next step is to swirl your brush into the oil/handwash mixture, when you see colour coming out of the brush I tend to swirl the brush into my hand (the same motion you would on your face!!) to massage the mixture into the brush to break down the product further.

wpid-20140602_132830.jpg

Once you have broken down the product by massaging the mixture into the brush you can then rinse the brush.  REMEMBER to keep the brush pointed downwards at all times, this is so the water doesn’t run into the barrel of the brush & corrode the glue (this is how brushes start shedding hair!). I tend to do this under a running tap to ensure all the product is rinsed out of the brush!

Once I know the brush is clean, I dry it off by doing the same swirling motion onto a clean towel, it probably won’t be fully dry after this but I just make sure it’s not dripping wet. I then re-shape the bristles of the brush so that when it dries it maintains its original shape!

Lastly I leave my brushes to dry completely. The best way to dry your brushes is either keeping them faced downwards (probably the best way as the water can drain out the brush end!), I put them in the Real Techniques brush holders upside down & hang them on the radiator, or you can leave them laid flat! I usually just leave them to dry on top of the radiator, this has in no way damaged my brushes, they’re still as good as new! 🙂

My question to you; What is your favourite brush cleanser?

I hope this post has helped you. As always if you have any questions please feel free to comment below! xo

15 Days of Beauty Challenge

Day 6: Top 3 Makeup Brushes!♥

Hi beauties.

It’s day 6 of the 15 Days of Beauty Challenge – my top 3 makeup brushes – & of course they’re 3 of the Real Techniques brushes (for a review of the core collection click here). All the Real Techniques line are amazing & since buying one, I haven’t been able to stop buying the others, I probably have more than half the collection now – LOVE THEM!! ♥

wpid-20140506_100847.jpg

(Image) Left to right: Buffing brush – part of the Core Collection, base shadow brush & the blush brush!

☼ The buffing brushis excellent for liquid foundations, but all these brushes are so versatile so it can be used with any product! I use this brush to buff/stipple my foundation into the skin, it gives a flawless look to the skin & blends product so effortlessly!

☼ The base shadow brushblends shadows seamlessly, I use this brush for crease colours as it is kind of tapered, which I find makes it perfect for the crease, however, it could also be used to sweep one colour across the lid!

☼ The blush brushis a tapered face brush, I use this for contour as the tapered design makes applying contour effortless & doesn’t leave you with a streaky look!

If you’d like to see a review on any of these brushes (or others from the collection) then please feel free to comment below saying what you’d like a review for 🙂

Thank you all for reading day 6 of the 15 day beauty challenge, I hope you enjoyed it 🙂 xo
