Younique Epic Mascara ♡

Hi beauties,

Wow yesterday was so so busy I didn’t even get chance to get this post up, so here we are, it’s up!! Yaaay! 🙂

If you follow my blog/makeup journey on any of my social media (all linked below) then you’ll know I love trying out new mascaras. Usually I am impressed by a mascara, but until I had used this one I’d always felt I was missing out & wanted more from my mascara. NO MORE. THIS IS BOMB.

Girls & guys, if you haven’t tried this mascara you need it in your life, I’ve never had more complements than when I use this. This mascara is definitely one of the reasons why I decided to partner with Younique.

I have tried & tested this baby for months… at least half a year if not more. This is my second tube & that’s saying something with mascara. More times than not I don’t repurchase a mascara, I tend to buy a different one still on the search for that perfect mascara. Between repurchasing this I did try a couple of other mascaras to see what else there was to offer but I always came back to this – my previous mascara review wasn’t so positive unfortunately!

What Younique claim;

  • Clinically proven to visibly improve volume,
length, and definition with an intensely conspicuous coat
    • For a truly multidimensional finish, go big with a second coat for dramatic lashes
    • A blend of flexible polymers adds buildable volume to lashes
    • Ophthalmologically tested

I would definitely agree with these claims, my lashes appear much longer & more voluminous with just one coat. The difference is amazing, plus since using this my natural lashes are much more healthy & have definitely grown. I know this as I was getting a lot of gaps in my lashes from other mascaras where they’ve been hard to get off & caused lashes to come out! Booo! Epic definitely gives my lashes a more curled appearance, I hate using lash curlers so this is a win!!

The flexible polymers claim comes from the fact one of the main ingredients in the mascara is beeswax. Beeswax is what creates the flexibility in mascaras & with Younique our ethos is “Nature. Love. Science” basically they pride themselves on being a natural based, high quality cosmetics company so using ingredients inspired by mother nature. I did research this myself, this website is great if you’re interested in the benefits of beeswax in a mascara, it was actually an interesting read.

This picture is between using different mascaras. Hate how stubby & lifeless my lashes look.

The wand & formula

These type of wands are by far my favourite, it’s a bristly wand rather than the hard plastic wands. I did used to like the plastic ones, but went off them a couple years ago as I kept jabbing myself in the eye! Ouch!🙈

Anyway, this mascara has a bristly wand, the bristles aren’t so soft where the mascara isn’t distributed well it’s inbetween! The bristles are a great depth so you can get a good amount of coverage on all lashes. It coats lashes I didn’t even realise I had!

The formula is not too wet & not too dry, it’s that perfect happy medium. I hate mascaras that are super wet as they get everywhere & I end up leaving them for a couple months to dry up a little. But not with this, as described above it coats the lashes great & definitely enhances them. I don’t feel the need to wear falsies at all. I dont notice any fall out throughout the day, which is everything when looking for a holy grail mascara!

Who wants black bits all over their flawless base? nobody.

PLUS the tube of product lasts ages, I’ve not had any problems with it drying up before being able to use it all up, this is one of my pet peeves with makeup!!

Love how fluffy & full Epic makes my lashes.

Conclusion

Overall this is definitely my holy grail mascara, one I always go back to. It is £19, but to me this mascara is worth every single penny. This mascara is one of the reasons I decided to partner with Younique, the before & afters really speak for themselves really.

Soph X Revolution Palette Review & Swatches ♡

Hi beauties,

Here I am again with another review, I love writing reviews especially when they are positive which this 100% is! 🙂

If you have tried this palette you’ll know it’s AMAZING!! Anyway for those who haven’t used it then I’m going to show you swatches & talk a bit about it.

If you didn’t know the palette is in collaboration with Sophdoesnails on YouTube, she partners with Revolution Makeup frequently & was offered the opportunity to create this palette. If you’re a fan of Revolution you will know how high quality their makeup is, but how so affordable it is. I love that about this brand, it’s so accessible!

The packaging of this palette is gorgeous, a lovely nude matte pink with rose gold writing. This is definitely Sophie all over. There’s a lovely big mirror on the inside & 24 beautiful matte & shimmer shades. They’re all so beautifully formulated & look gorgeous on the eye.

Neither matte or shimmer shades are chunky or patchy. They swatch so well & are a dream to blend on the eye. All Revolution shadows are so consistent & gorgeous, never had a bad one.

Below I have swatched all 24 shades, from bottom to top in order of how they appear in the palette.

Swatches of the first & second line;

Swatches of the third & fourth line;

As you can see all shades swatch so beautifully, they feel so buttery soft to the touch! For these swatches I did two layers of the colour for some of the mattes but it is typical that mattes don’t swatch as well as shimmer.

In my eyes these shadows are the bomb & I haven’t put this palette down since I bought it. This palette retails for £10, for 24 shadows that is phenomenal! Just over 40p for each shadow!❤

Overall, this palette is defintiely a must have in anyone’s collection. The possibilities are endless & if you read my blog regularly you’ll know I’ve used it in previous posts & no doubt you will see it a ton in the future.

I really want to do looks with the pine tree & petrol shades, comment your suggestions below please😘

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara Review ♡

Hi lovelies ☺

Sorry if has been a while.. life has been hectic, turns out growing a human is super tiring! Haha😂 If I’ve not been working, I’ve been sleeping 😯

Anyway, I thought I would let you know my thoughts on the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara as I purchased it the other month & have now been able to give it a good test!😄

What Too Faced claim

Created during a quest to find the holy grail of mascara, Better Than Sex provides extreme volume and a more dramatic look with each coat. The hourglass-shaped brush unlocks the formula to create the perfect mascara that volumizes, lifts and coats both tops and bottoms of every little lash- with no lash left behind.

Do I agree with these claims!? I do. I really have loved using this mascara.. it does coat my lashes well but you do need a few coats to build up the length & volume!

The brush shape does make it easy to apply & I do prefer these sort of brushes but once I’ve worn this mascara a few hours it does seem to crumble/fall down on to my face which for me is a pet hate! Especially when this is a high end mascara as I don’t get this when I use drugstore mascara!

As you can see it does look amazing.. but for me, for the price there are a lot better cheaper alternatives!!

Help!!! I’m in need of a new mascara.. hit me with suggestions below please!😊

Tropic Smoothing Cleanser Review!♡

Hey lovelies,

If your like me, your probably wondering what this product is all about! I was recommended this by a friend & haven’t looked back since!

This baby is definitely THE BEST cleanser I have used, I love the fact it is natural & so gentle on the skin!☺

Product claims

With a luxurious blend of uplifting eucalyptus, golden jojoba and avocado oils, this refreshing cream cleanser effortlessly melts away makeup and impurities to leave your skin feeling unbelievably soft and clean.

Comes with a free, naturally antibacterial face cloth, made from 100% organic, sustainable bamboo fibres.

Retail price £16 ♡ Every cleanser comes with a bamboo cloth!

Does it live up to the claims?

Plain & simply, yes it does!! This cleanser is absolutely beautiful, it makes my skin feel baby soft without having to use an exfoliator so often!

My pores always feel super clean & hydrated, I’m not left with that tight, uncomfortable feeling of a product that has sucked the life out of your skin!! THIS IS THE EXACT OPPOSITE!! It leaves my skin so nourished & hydrated, I use it morning & night as it is so gentle☺

PLUS… it has a pump.. it makes it super easy to use the cleanser & control the amount of product you use☺ YAAAY!♡

This cleanser can definitely be used to help melt away makeup or just on bare skin.. since being pregnant this cleanser has been my saviour as my skin has been SUPER dry!! However, I also used this before pregnancy when my skin was more oily & it worked just as well☺

Overall, I cannot praise this cleanser enough! I don’t think I’ll be changing up my cleanser for a long long time!! If you haven’t found that dream cleanser yet.. you need to try this! Definitely worth the money♡

Here is where I buy mine ♡

Makeup Revolution: Redemption Palette Iconic 3 Review & Swatches!!❤

Hi beauties 🌞

While I’ve been away I’ve purchased a few new makeup products. This Makeup Revolution London Palette is one of those things, no doubt other purchases will be reviewed in future posts!:)

I tried this palette out for the first time a week or so ago, but to give you guys a full, in – depth review I wanted to trial it a bit longer! So here are my thoughts…

image

Makeup Revolution London Redemption Palette Iconic 3
THE ultimate
palettes with ultra high payoff.

A perfect mix of pearl, shimmer and matte shades. Totally collectable and a pure sellout.

The iconic 3 palette retails for an amazing £4! Makeup Revolution is like MUA, which if your from the UK you’ll know is sold in most Superdrug stores. It is a very cheap brand, but for the prices the products are fantastic!! These eyeshadows are fabulously pigmented & are almost buttery to touch. 🙂

image

Texture
Some of these shades can come off quite crumbly, this isn’t a problem to me as I usually use concealer on the lids as a primer. To me this ensures the eyeshadow stays put as it grabs onto the concealer to set it!
The shimmer shades are more buttery, despite this they are all VERY pigmented & stay put all day!! Especially for their £4 price tag, what more could we ask for?!:)❤

Dupe?
It has been said by many YouTubers & beauty bloggers that this is a dupe for Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. Personally I don’t own the Urban Decay Palette but have seen swatches! The colours look very very similar, but the Urban Decay Palette retails for a steeper £37.
For swatches & comparison check out Raspberry Kiss’ blog post – click here

These shadows are not individually named, but Hey Ho! At least you get an idea of what these shadows look like once applied to the skin.
All I did was rub my finger in each colour once & apply it to my arm,  as you can see the pigmentation is astounding. I am very pleased with this palette & I can’t wait to do more looks with it! 🙂

Have you tried this palette or any other products from Makeup Revolution? If so,  what are your thoughts? ❤

Holly Go Lightly ❤

Hi beauties 🌞

Yes, I am aware it isn’t Christmas, but my twin (beautifulbreakable) gave this Lush bubble bar to me a week or so ago for me to try.

image

What is it?
Apart from looking super cute, Holly Go Lightly is a beautiful, festively spiced, sparkly bubble bar. You break a small amount off & crumble it under a running tap to, yes you guessed it, create bubbles!!! The colour of the bubble bar will also tint your bath water, personally this is one of my favourite things about them!!

image

Why use it?
This bubble bar (and others I’ve tried) smell absolutely divine. They leave my skin feeling nourished & silky soft! Which is obviously a bonus, especially if your like me, who seems to have super sensitive legs (which seem to be irritated by most things:?). Also, the scent of them linger on your skin, who doesn’t want to smell like Christmas? 🙂

I also love bubble bars as they last ages, you only need a small amount of the bar to create millions of bubbles. So you can happily have a few baths out of each bar! 👌

image

Have you tried any of Lushs bubble bars?
If so, which ones? 🙂

My Benefit Counter Experience!♡

Hi beauties. ☼

So a while ago I said I’d had a not so good experience with Benefit. For mine & my twins birthday (beautifulbreakable), a friend arranged for us to have our makeup done at a Benefit counter in Leeds.  However, this experience wasn’t the best.

There were only two girls on the counter & the girl doing the makeup didn’t seem bothered,  which to me was a concern from the beginning.

Jess, my sister, had her makeup done first & believe me, I nearly walked out when it was my turn. Both our makeup’s were simple & not well done at all. The foundation did not match at all, the girl slapped on products like no tomorrow. It felt horrid.

image

As you can see by the image above the colour clearly doesn’t match.

She applied a thick moisturiser, primer & foundation all at once without letting each product sink into the skin, hence the cake face!!! It felt like I had wet paint on my face, ew.

image

image

This was the finished result. I was fuming & we both ran to boots to get makeup wipes to remove it!

With any disappointment comes a high, at least we gave our friends a good laugh. Also, we bought Benefits Gimme Brow, I definitely don’t regret this, I love it 🙂

Despite this depressing post I haven’t been put off Benefit products. I’m just reluctant to ever get my makeup done at a counter again, I can do 100x better myself!  :p

FYI. Jess complained & we got a free sample of the they’re real liner, bright eyes kit & a coupon code for discount off the next purchase. So hats off to Benefit for keeping their customers on board with fab service! 😀

Have you ever had your makeup done professionally? If so, where?

Lots of Love Natasha

Sleek Luminaire highlighting concealer. No, just no!!

Hi beauties. ☼

So to explain my lack of posts, firstly I’ve been moving house and haven’t got wifi so I’m trying to save my mobile data. Secondly, I’m at work almost everyday & when I’m not I’m usually doing some other form of work! *Boo*

Anyway, today I’ve got a review for you, however, not a very good one 😦
I’ve been meaning to do this for a while,  but obviously haven’t got round to it! So here it is…

Brand: Sleek Makeup
Price: £6.49
Rating: 0

image

Here is what the product looks like,  yes it looks sleek & very efficient, but that’s where it stops! This has got to be the worst concealer I’ve ever tried. Yes I liked the concept of clicking the product up, so it’s not wasted. However with this product being,  well crap, it seemed pointless!!

I had such high hopes for this little guy,  as I’ve always loved sleek! Don’t get me wrong,  this hasn’t put me off the brand just wary of trying other base products.

image

As you can see from this swatch it looks very dry & well,  unflattering. As an illuminating product you expect it to just glide onto your skin. This does not.

It balls up underneath the eye, doesnt blends at all & worst of all is very drying! It accentuates any fine lines, which is not what we want our illuminators to be doing.

Like I said, I still love sleek as a brand,  just not this product. I’ll still but their eyeshadows & blushes,  they are fab!!!

This post,  well rant,  is just to warn you,  my beautifu readers, not to waste your money! 🙂

Have you tried any Sleek products?  If so,  what was it & what did you think?

Lots of Love Natasha
