Weird but wonderful!♥

Hi Beauties ☼

Recently I have struggled with my skin, in particular my legs, they have been so dry & when I try to shave they’re so itchy!! BUT. I have finally found a solution.. what is this saviour I hear you ask? Mens shaving cream. Yes, I know it’s for shaving anyway, but most people don’t usually think to use mens shaving cream (as there are brands that make it for women!). I thought well its great for the face so I’ll try it on my legs & it worked.

I received this Dove Men + Care Sample with an order I made, but my boyfriend doesn’t clean shave so I stole it 😉 it turns out, its been well loved! At first I didn’t think it was going to do the job, as it is quite heavily scented with quite a musky ‘male’ smell, my skin doesn’t usually agree with highly scented products.

It is pretty self explanatory in how you use it, it is a cream product you can use wet or dry, but I find it best wet as it creates a lather on the legs which leaves very very soft & smooth legs! YAAAAY!! 😀 I’ve also tried this on my underarms & other areas, it does wonders, it leaves the skin so silky smooth & soft, I just can’t get enough 🙂

After trying this male shaving cream I’m in the market for a good ladies shaving cream, let me which ones you guys like so I can try more! 🙂

Lots of Love Natasha

Summer Soft Skin: Top 5 Body Butters!♥

Hi Beauties. ☼

Sorry I haven’t posted this weekend, but it’s been a busy one. Although I’ve been off work, its been lovely weather so I’ve been making to most of it & soaking up the sun 🙂

As it’s summer now, I tend to get dry skin (well my body anyway), so I like to moisturise it every other day or so! I’m going to share with you my top 5 body butter picks from my least favourite to my absolute favourite…

wpid-20140721_184618.jpg

5. Vaseline – Intensive Rescue Moisture Locking Body Lotion. This is a very intense moisturiser, as the name would suggest. It retails at £4.99, which in my eyes is pretty cheap as this is a huge 400ml bottle. I tend to just use this when my legs are feeling particularly dry as it instantly makes them soft & smooth again, especially as it’s unfragranced I know it won’t irritate!! 🙂

I would give this moisturiser a 4/5, it does what it says on the bottle! I definitely recommend it for those with dry, sensitive skin or anyone who needs a good intense moisturiser! It’s only my least fave as it doesn’t have a scent & is pretty boring! (haha).

4. Avon Naturals – Cherry Blossom Moisturising Body Whip.I actually really enjoy this body moisturiser, it does moisturise well & smells absolutely gorgeous. It is a nice silky consistency & almost leaves your skin with a little glow. I don’t know how much this was as it was a present, but I doubt it’d be over £5.

I give this body whip a 4/5, just because it does the job but it’s not the best I’ve tried.

3. Garnier – Summerbody Moisturising Lotion Sun-kissed Look. I really like this moisturiser, it has a hint of tanning agent in it so after it develops & has sunk in fully it leaves a lovely glow to the skin. It really does moisturise the skin, I used this the other night & when I woke my skin felt as soft as a babies & had a lovely glow. To see a full review click here.

I’d give this moisturiser a 4.5/5. It is a great moisturiser/gradual tanner, it just leaves a bit of a tanning smell (albeit not half as bad as others!)

2. Soap & Glory – Sugar Crush.OH MY GOSH. I just can’t get over this smell, it smells amazing, mouthwateringly amazing (literally!!), if you haven’t smelt it, you NEEDto!! Anyway, this is actually a great moisturiser, it ticks all the boxes in that it moisturises the body, absorbs fast & smells heavenly. This is only a little sized one but you can get the big tub for £10.50.

I give this a 5/5 it’s everything I want in a moisturiser. You can’t go wrong with it 🙂

AND THE WINNER IS…

1. The Body Shop – Strawberry Body Butter. If you read my other post I mentioned this in, you’d know I LOOOOVE the smell of it. It reminds me of Calpol, yes the medicine, haha! It’s lush 🙂 As well as smelling fab, it does an amazing job at moisturising, it leaves my skin feeling gorgeous. It’s just a shame it’s £13 a tub, which is quite expensive for a moisturiser to me!

I definitely recommend this body butter & give it a 5/5, just go try it & see for yourself 🙂

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post. Let me know what your fave body moisturisers are, I’m always wanting to try more 🙂 xo

Lots of Love Natasha ❤

Project 10 Pan

4. Gosh Velvet Touch Primer: Project 10 Pan!♥

Hi beauties. ☼

I’ve recently just finished & re-purchased this Gosh Velvet Touch Foundation Primer so I thought this would be perfect to include as part of my project 10 pan, especially as there doesn’t seem to be much about it online!!

What is a primer?

A primer is a product you use in between your skincare & your face makeup. It is designed to fill in large pores & smooth over imperfections on the skin in order to create a smooth base for makeup! Some primers also make your makeup last longer on the skin, it just depends what type of primer you’re looking for 🙂

What Gosh claim:

Gosh Velvet Touch Foundation Primer is a perfect base for all makeup. It fills in fine lines and deep pores in the skin, creating a uniform, matt and silky soft surface, enabling the easy and smooth application of foundation.

The primer can be used after daily moisturiser or on clean skin. The formula is perfume and preservative free.

wpid-20140507_165415.jpgGosh’s Velvet Touch Foundation Primer is (as you can see) a clear primer, it is silicone based (which most primers are) which is what makes the skin feel smooth and soft after applying the product and retails here in the UK for £7.99.

As Gosh claims this definitely does fill in fine lines & deep pores, as when I apply this I see no sign of any pores which I do have quite large ones around the nose/cheek area. I 100% agree with the statement that it creates a uniform, matt & silky soft surface as the silicone formula is what does this, however, like most silicone based primers if you rub this into your skin (e.g. like you would  a moisturiser) it is likely to ball up. Therefore, it is best to either lightly rub or pat this product into the skin & leave it to settle in for a few minutes 🙂

Application

To apply this primer I pump about a quarter of a pump (half a pea-size amount) onto the back of my hand, you really don’t need much of this as a little goes a long way. I then place a tiny amount on my forehead, nose, cheeks & chin – these are the places I find have more imperfections and pores – but just apply it to where you need it. After I have distributed the product I push it into the skin by pressing my finger over the area that needs it, this will push the product into the pore/smooth out any perfections to create a smooth base for makeup, I also find this method works the best!! 🙂

What I think of this primer

Despite the fact that I said this primer can ball up, it is still worth every penny & to be honest beauties I think this primer is a steal as it really does fill in those unwanted pores & smooth out imperfections. It creates the PERFECT base for any face makeup you wish to apply & even though it doesn’t claim to help keep your makeup on throughout the day, I definitely think it helps to do this!!

I cannot recommend this product enough as it is perfect for any skin (well, I have sensitive skin so if it works for me I’m sure it’ll work for you too!). Like Gosh claims it really is perfume free, which personally I love as I don’t necessarily like putting highly perfumed/scented products on my face as it makes me react to it, but this product is a winner all round with this.

No perfume, creates a flawless feel to the skin, helps keep makeup on all day & is very inexpensive!!! What more could we want?

wpid-20140507_165440.jpgWOO! This primer also has a pump & is one of those products where as you use it up something in the bottom rises (something to do with pressure) in order for you to be able to get the last drop of the product out! WIN WIN SITUATION!!

Topshop Lipstick Review

I’ve been meaning to buy some of Topshops lipsticks for a while now, after hearing such good things about them I finally splashed out £16 (£8 each) and bought two shades, ‘screen siren’ & ‘beguiled’ (swatches below). Although I only purchased these two shades there are many more to choose from, I just decided on these as I hadn’t any other lipsticks like these in my collection.

These lipsticks are quite a creamy formula, which once applied onto the lips feel moisturising, the colour pay-off also surprised me, I never expected such good quality, especially because they only retail for £8 each. Despite the creamy formula they dry to a matte/smooth texture, which i usually hate. However, unlike other matte lipsticks i have come across they aren’t drying on the lips, to be truthful it isn’t like your wearing a lipstick.

lipstick swatches

1 = Screen Siren

2 = Beguiled

Topshop claims the lipsticks to be a;

Velvet finish lipstick to smooth, moisturise and nourish lips. Apply for fabulous colour and moisturised, matte finish, wear alone or with gloss for a shiny finish.

Does the Topshop lipsticks live upto their claims? In my opinion YES they do, well the two I own certainly do. Firstly, I agree with Topshops claim that the lipsticks leave a velvet/smooth finish to the lips, although this sounds as if once the lipstick is applied it dries your lips out, this is not the case, as claimed the lipsticks are moisturising and nourishing on the lips. In all honesty once you have taken the lipstick off or it has worn off, your lips feel softer than before you applied the lipstick, this can only be a good thing, right?
Secondly, the lipsticks are VERY pigmented, after one application of these lipsticks you get the true colour pay-off onto your lips. This is brilliant as it means you don’t need to layer up the product, therefore making it last longer, which is certainly value for money, especially for the £8 you pay (which for brilliant lipsticks like these is pretty cheap these days).

These lipsticks also have a mild scent to them, ‘screen siren’ smells a bit like MAC lipsticks, with a vanilla/sweet scent to it, whereas ‘beguiled’ has more of a fruity berry scent. If you don’t like makeup which is scented don’t be alarmed, they are not heavily scented, as it is only noticable if you hold them to your nose, I haven’t noticed any scent during application or once applied.

Packaging

The packaging of these Topshop lipsticks are pretty standard with a plain white tube with three horizontal black stripes on the bottom and the writing ‘Lips Topshop’ on the lid. The colour of the lipstick is also shown on the bottom of the tube with its own unique name. Despite the simplicity of the packaging I quite like it, the tube also has a matte feel to it which adds to the quality and makes it feel more expensive, but to be honest what can you expect for £8, its hardly going to be 8 carat gold. Therefore, in my opinion, for the price you pay you get decent looking, sturdy packaging.

I would definitely recommend these lipsticks, especially if your on a budget when it comes to makeup, they are such cheap lipsticks for the high quality you get, even if you aren’t a fan of matte lips you can always put a bit of lip balm or clear gloss over the top to add some shine.

Overall, I give these lipsticks a 5/5, to me they are BRILLIANT; they are reasonably priced, nourishing on the lips, highly pigmented and last for hours on the lips without reapplying, what more could you want?
