Competiton: House of Fraser Beauty Ambassador ❤

Hi beauties 🌞

As you can tell by the title this post is dedicated to the House of Fraser Beauty Ambassador Competition.. I heard about this from the lovely Nina of Ninarossbeauty 🙂

I know I posted this look not long ago, but I loved it so much I wanted to use it for my entry. As you all know Taylor is a massive inspiration for my makeup looks & outfits 🙂 So here it is, my Taylor Swift inspired makeup look…

If you’d like to know how I achieved this look, then keep reading..

Eyes

image

☆ I started off with the eyes to ensure no fallout ruined my face makeup.

☆ I used some sticky tape to create a sharp line;  position this just under your lower lashline as if it’s being extended!

☆ To achieve this eye look I only used shadows from the Sleek Au Natural Palette.

☆ I took the black shadow & marked out where I wanted the liner. Lining from the inner corner to the tip of the wing,  just carry on your lower lashline to create the wing, & stop at the tail of your brow! Also line the lower lashes.

image

☆ I then intensified & thickened the liner by going over it with more black shadow. You could use gel or liquid liner,  but I liked the look of shadow.

☆ Be sure to extend the liner into the inner corner too, to create even more of a feline eye!
The more cat like, the better!

image

☆ To add the sultry smokey look to this makeup I smoked out the outer corner of the eye with a dark brown shadow & the same black shadow used before!

☆ I also used the same dark brown to smoke out the lower lashline. Just keep blending & adding colour until your happy!

☆ I did apply black Kohl in my waterline and tightline after I did my base.

Face

image

☆ Once you’re happy with the eyes it’s time to perfect the skin! For my foundation I used my Revlon colourstay with my Real Techniques Buffing brush 🙂 But use products you know work for you & your skin type.

☆ To hide any dark circles & imperfections I used my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. To set the face I used my trusty Rimmel Stay Matte powder 🙂

image

☆ To add some life into the face I applied my Benefit Hoola Bronzer as a contour & on my cheeks as a bronzer to warm up the face!

☆ Also to add some shape to the brows I filled in the tails with my ELF Brow Kit & set them with Benefit Gimme Brow.

image

☆ As the finishing touch I used my Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner in 24 red diva to line my lips. I then went over that with my Urban Decay Lipstick in ‘F-Bomb’.

Finished look…

I hope you all love this look as much as I do 🙂

Get The Look: 50’s Inspired!♥

Hi beauties. ☼

If you follow me on instagram (if not, follow me @heyaitsnat) you’ll know that about a week ago I posted a picture of a 50’s inspired makeup look. I asked who’d like to see this look & it got quite a few likes so I took that as a yes. To be honest, I’d have done it anyway as I’ve wanted to do this for a while now but never got round to it 🙂

Inspiration photos…wpid-photogrid_1406395770393.jpgClick here for the website I found my inspiration pics on 🙂 Taylor Swift is also a huuuge inspiration when it comes to a look like this, as this is like her typical, everyday, makeup look 🙂

So I’m going to run through how I achieved my 50’s inspired makeup look. I really like how it turned out, I hope you do too…

1. I first start with a freshly cleansed, toned & moisturised face (for my morning skincare routine click here). As you can see my bare face is far from perfect, I have quite a lot of redness & dark patches. So lets begin & solve this problem…

wpid-20140725_194924.jpg

2. I started off by applying my L’Oreal True Match foundation, I didn’t apply concealer as I am going to do this after.I just wanted to get an even-ish coverage first before perfecting my skin later.

wpid-20140725_201441.jpg

3. I then went in with two light shades from my ELF palette all over the lid to brighten up my eyes.

wpid-20140725_201150.jpg

4. Using the same ELF palette I then mixed a light brown shade with a darker brown shade to act as a transition colour for the crease. As this is a 50’s inspired look there won’t be many shadows involved, just neutral colours to contour the eye a little.

wpid-20140725_201205.jpg

5. To darken up the crease & give a bit more definition I went in with my Hoola Bronzer with a fluffy tapered brush, from ELF. This just gives the look a bit more depth & dimension, which is fab for this style of makeup look!!

wpid-20140725_201324.jpg

6. This is what the eye looks like with subtle definition ready for the best part, the eyeliner!! I have slightly winged the shadow out to add to the cat-eye effect that we’ll be creating later in the look.

7. Using my beloved L’Oreal Super Liner in Black Lacquer I lined my lash line & winged it out slightly at the edge. We all know how important a good cat eye was back in the 50’s! So practice, practice, practice girlies 🙂

wpid-photogrid_1406395674634.jpg

8. The picture I was inspired by had a sort of double wing look going on, so I just had to copy it, I loove it! To achieve this I used my Rimmel Kohl Pencil in White, make sure it’s sharp & draw a line parallel to the black one of the wing you just created. To define the double wing, add more black liner underneath the white. To do this I used my Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl in Black! To complete the eyes I then popped lashings of my Maybelline Rocket Volume Mascara on.

It didn’t go as well as I’d hoped. But for my first time, I was pretty pleased!

wpid-photogrid_1406395614165.jpg9. To finish the look I concealed my dark circles, blemished & redness with my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. I then set the base with my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Transparent. To add more life to my face I contoured my cheek bones using Benefit Hoola & to warm the face a but more I used my Natural Collection Blush in Peach Melba. For my brows I just kept them natural & set them with clear mascara.

No 50’s inspired look would be complete without a red lip, so I of coursed finished this makeup look off with my Topshop Lips in Screen Siren. I don’t know why, but these pics make it seem a pink-y red. I assure you it is a true red 🙂

wpid-photogrid_1406395575470.jpgWhat do you think of my 50’s inspired makeup look?

Wonderstruck - Taylor Swift
Fragrance

Taylor Swift Wonderstruck

Taylor Swift Wonderstruck is the first perfume in the collection, it is described as a “charming and sparkling surprise of vibrant fruits, kissed by a bouquet of soft petals and a touch of sweet indulgence.” It truly does smell gorgeous and definitely instills Taylors reputation of the ‘hopeless romantic’.

Top notes: Freesia, Green Tea, Apple Blossom, Raspberry, Dewberry. Heart notes: Hawaiian White Hibiscus, Honeysuckle, Mimosa Flowers, Vanilla Whoopie Pie. Base notes: Amber, Sandalwood, Musk, Peach.

Heart notes: Hawaiian White Hibiscus, Honeysuckle, Mimosa Flowers, Vanilla Whoopie Pie.

As the description says this is a strong sweet/floral scent, so if you are woman who usually goes for sophisticated scents this may not be for you. This fragrance would probably be suited to teenage girls or young women due to the strong sweet scent. However, i would say that this scent wasn’t too overpowering and as i have found the fragrance lasts for hours on the skin, which for the price (ranging from £19 – £29) is brilliant value and is definitely worth every penny.

Not only does the fragrance smell divine but the packaging is just as beautifully designed (picture above); the glass bottle has a purple iridescent glow, the bottle is then complimented by the gold features such as the lid, charms which are hand-picked by Taylor Swift (Star, Bird & Bird Cage) to signify her love for antiques, the product name ‘Wonderstruck’ and of course Taylors own ‘Taylor Swift’ logo. The box the bottle comes in has also been carefully designed with a patterned and colourful design, showing off Taylors creative side.

For Taylor Swifts first fragrance this is an overall brilliant buy, not only does it look and smell divine but unlike other high-end brands the scent actually lasts on the skin, this can only be a benefit.
