Celebrity Makeup Looks

Competiton: House of Fraser Beauty Ambassador ❤

Hi beauties 🌞

As you can tell by the title this post is dedicated to the House of Fraser Beauty Ambassador Competition.. I heard about this from the lovely Nina of Ninarossbeauty 🙂

I know I posted this look not long ago, but I loved it so much I wanted to use it for my entry. As you all know Taylor is a massive inspiration for my makeup looks & outfits 🙂 So here it is, my Taylor Swift inspired makeup look…

image

If you’d like to know how I achieved this look, then keep reading..

Eyes

image

☆ I started off with the eyes to ensure no fallout ruined my face makeup.

☆ I used some sticky tape to create a sharp line;  position this just under your lower lashline as if it’s being extended!

☆ To achieve this eye look I only used shadows from the Sleek Au Natural Palette.

☆ I took the black shadow & marked out where I wanted the liner. Lining from the inner corner to the tip of the wing,  just carry on your lower lashline to create the wing, & stop at the tail of your brow! Also line the lower lashes.

image

☆ I then intensified & thickened the liner by going over it with more black shadow. You could use gel or liquid liner,  but I liked the look of shadow.

☆ Be sure to extend the liner into the inner corner too, to create even more of a feline eye!
The more cat like, the better!

image

☆ To add the sultry smokey look to this makeup I smoked out the outer corner of the eye with a dark brown shadow & the same black shadow used before!

☆ I also used the same dark brown to smoke out the lower lashline. Just keep blending & adding colour until your happy!

☆ I did apply black Kohl in my waterline and tightline after I did my base.

Face

image

☆ Once you’re happy with the eyes it’s time to perfect the skin! For my foundation I used my Revlon colourstay with my Real Techniques Buffing brush 🙂 But use products you know work for you & your skin type.

☆ To hide any dark circles & imperfections I used my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. To set the face I used my trusty Rimmel Stay Matte powder 🙂

image

☆ To add some life into the face I applied my Benefit Hoola Bronzer as a contour & on my cheeks as a bronzer to warm up the face!

☆ Also to add some shape to the brows I filled in the tails with my ELF Brow Kit & set them with Benefit Gimme Brow.

image

☆ As the finishing touch I used my Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner in 24 red diva to line my lips. I then went over that with my Urban Decay Lipstick in ‘F-Bomb’.

Finished look…

I hope you all love this look as much as I do 🙂

Get The Look: 50’s Inspired!♥

Hi beauties. ☼

If you follow me on instagram (if not, follow me @heyaitsnat) you’ll know that about a week ago I posted a picture of a 50’s inspired makeup look. I asked who’d like to see this look & it got quite a few likes so I took that as a yes. To be honest, I’d have done it anyway as I’ve wanted to do this for a while now but never got round to it 🙂

Inspiration photos…wpid-photogrid_1406395770393.jpgClick here for the website I found my inspiration pics on 🙂 Taylor Swift is also a huuuge inspiration when it comes to a look like this, as this is like her typical, everyday, makeup look 🙂

So I’m going to run through how I achieved my 50’s inspired makeup look. I really like how it turned out, I hope you do too…

1. I first start with a freshly cleansed, toned & moisturised face (for my morning skincare routine click here). As you can see my bare face is far from perfect, I have quite a lot of redness & dark patches. So lets begin & solve this problem…

wpid-20140725_194924.jpg

2. I started off by applying my L’Oreal True Match foundation, I didn’t apply concealer as I am going to do this after.I just wanted to get an even-ish coverage first before perfecting my skin later.

wpid-20140725_201441.jpg

3. I then went in with two light shades from my ELF palette all over the lid to brighten up my eyes.

wpid-20140725_201150.jpg

4. Using the same ELF palette I then mixed a light brown shade with a darker brown shade to act as a transition colour for the crease. As this is a 50’s inspired look there won’t be many shadows involved, just neutral colours to contour the eye a little.

wpid-20140725_201205.jpg

5. To darken up the crease & give a bit more definition I went in with my Hoola Bronzer with a fluffy tapered brush, from ELF. This just gives the look a bit more depth & dimension, which is fab for this style of makeup look!!

wpid-20140725_201324.jpg

6. This is what the eye looks like with subtle definition ready for the best part, the eyeliner!! I have slightly winged the shadow out to add to the cat-eye effect that we’ll be creating later in the look.

wpid-photogrid_1406395734532.jpg

7. Using my beloved L’Oreal Super Liner in Black Lacquer I lined my lash line & winged it out slightly at the edge. We all know how important a good cat eye was back in the 50’s! So practice, practice, practice girlies 🙂

wpid-photogrid_1406395674634.jpg

8. The picture I was inspired by had a sort of double wing look going on, so I just had to copy it, I loove it! To achieve this I used my Rimmel Kohl Pencil in White, make sure it’s sharp & draw a line parallel to the black one of the wing you just created. To define the double wing, add more black liner underneath the white. To do this I used my Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl in Black! To complete the eyes I then popped lashings of my Maybelline Rocket Volume Mascara on.

It didn’t go as well as I’d hoped. But for my first time, I was pretty pleased!

wpid-photogrid_1406395614165.jpg9. To finish the look I concealed my dark circles, blemished & redness with my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. I then set the base with my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Transparent. To add more life to my face I contoured my cheek bones using Benefit Hoola & to warm the face a but more I used my Natural Collection Blush in Peach Melba. For my brows I just kept them natural & set them with clear mascara.

No 50’s inspired look would be complete without a red lip, so I of coursed finished this makeup look off with my Topshop Lips in Screen Siren. I don’t know why, but these pics make it seem a pink-y red. I assure you it is a true red 🙂

wpid-photogrid_1406395575470.jpgWhat do you think of my 50’s inspired makeup look?

Summer Scents: Perfume Collection!♥

Hi beauties. ☼

It occurred to me that all my perfumes are quite summer-y, so I thought it was only right to do a perfume collection to show you what perfumes I’m loving! I have 4 perfumes I’m going to share with you & 1 sample I received last month which I want to share with you! Anyway, I’ll stop rambling; on with the post…wpid-20140604_174525.jpg

1. Gwen Stefani Harajuku ‘Wicked Style’ Baby – well this has been enlightening, I didn’t have the foggiest idea that Gwen Stefani created this range of perfumes. Anywhooo, this is a beautiful perfume all the same, not only does it look beautiful, but it smells it too! It lasts quite a while on the skin, however, I have probably only worn this a few hours at a time, I usually wear it for special occasions/events.

Her scent is as sweet and gentle as she is; a vanilla floral with little touches of fruitiness. Velvety white peach and red apple all wrapped up in the delicateness of freesia and orchid. Tender and feminine with a little touch of the unexpected.

I love this perfume, it’s such a delicate & feminine scent! I received this as a gift a year or so ago & from the minute I smelt it; I fell in love! You can definitely smell the vanilla, but to me that’s the best thing about it!! I LOVE VANILLA!! The other notes in the perfume work together to compliment the perfume as a whole. This perfume will probably remain in my collection for a very long time & I’d definitely repurchase it! 🙂

wpid-20140604_174425.jpg

2. Marc Jacobs Oh Lola! – OH WOW! That’s what comes to mind when I think of this perfume. It really does smell delicious, it is probably my favourite perfume in my collection for summer! To me it is summer in a bottle 🙂 The bottle, lets just appreciate its pure beauty, is super cute with the flower top, I mean what girl wouldn’t love this perfume?

Marc Jacobs Oh Lola begins with light and fruity Pear and effervescent Raspberry, over a dewy floral heart of Peony, Magnolia and Cyclamen and a rich seductive base of Sandalwood, Tonka Bean and Vanilla.

This definitely describes this perfume to a T, it’s such a beautiful perfume (if you haven’t smelt it you need to!!). The raspberry notes are definitely detectable, it’s like you’ve been hit by a sweet but floral pillow! This perfume also lasts quite well on the skin, if I go shopping for the day I can still smell it when I get back home! I guess it depends how much you sweat & all that hm, well loveliness (haha!!).

wpid-20140604_174435.jpg

3. Taylor Swift Taylor – As you beauties may know, I loveeee Taylor Swift so naturally I bought her fragrances (well the first & third one, I’m yet to buy the second one, Wonderstruck Enchanted!). This is the third one in her collection, it is a very classy, grown-up fragrance compared to the other two. It is perfect for special occasions, I find it too over-powering for everyday use! Taylor by Taylor Swift stays on the skin well, I usually wear it on a night & it lasts pretty much the whole night!

Taylor by Taylor Swift is a sweet, fruity fragrance infused with soft floral and creamy cashmere musk. A youthful perfume with a woody base.
Top notes: Litchi, Tangerine, Magnolia Petals
Heart notes: Peony, Orchid, Hortensia
Base notes: Sandalwood, Apricot, Musk

The creamy cashmere musk definitely shines through with this perfume, this is why I prefer it for evening wear/special occasions! Despite this you can detect a sweet/fruity fragrance, I think without this the perfume would be waaaaay too over-powering for me! But this adds a subtlety to the perfume, which i love!wpid-20140604_174446.jpg

4. Taylor Swift Wonderstruck – *I already have a full review on this, click here to read it* – This is the first perfume Taylor released, it is my favourite out of the two I have. Mainly because it is more wearable for everyday use & come on, LOOK AT THE BOTTLE. It’s sooo pretty!! I swear I’m a magpie!!! I literally use this everyday, no matter what the occasion I wear it, I swear my friends/family must be sick of it by now!! haha. This perfume lasts pretty much all day on the skin, however, if I’m going out again in the evening I will re-apply it, but seriously guys; what perfume stays on 24 hours? none.

Wonderstruck is an awe-inspiring, magical feeling. The fragrance has notes of freesia, green tea, apple blossom, raspberry and dewberry. The result is sparkling; an enchanted fragrance.

wpid-20140604_174626.jpg

5. Ghost Eclipse – I received the sample of this perfume in last months glossybox. OH MY, I’ve fallen head over heels!! I’m definitely going to be purchasing the full bottle when I run out, it is such a gorgeous fragrance!!

A tangling explosion of fruit notes set the senses on alert. Sweet bergamot, lemon, mandarin, apple and peach draw you into memories of crisp, care free summer days.
In contrast, the romantic heart of freesia, Lotus Flower and sensual rose create a feeling of femininity with a soft playful character.
Delicate touches of amber, peach and musk bring sophistication and sensuality to this addictive and unforgettable fragrance.

This perfume is quickly becoming one of my faves & I’ve had it less than a month!! It’s such an elegant but feminine fragrance, it makes you feel & smell like a million dollars!! 🙂

I hope you’ve liked this different post. I thought it was about time I did another fragrance post! – If you’d like to see a review on any of these perfumes let me know 🙂
