LUSH HAUL!!♥

Hi Beauties ☼

I’m so excited for todays post, it’s a little late but work got in the way! Anyway, last week I finally got to go to Lush, I don’t have a Lush store in the town I live in so whenever I go somewhere with one I stock up 🙂 It’s safe to say I splurged & stocked up, but hey, its Lush! I couldn’t resist!!

So lets get into what I bought…

1. The Comforter Bubble BarPrice: £4.75 each, this may seem pricey but trust me, you can get at least 4-6 baths out of this one bar!! This luscious blackcurrant fragranced bubble bar makes for a lovely pamper night bubble bath.

wpid-20150531_230454.jpg2. Brightside Bubble BarPrice £4.75 each, like the Comforter it can make for many bubble baths. This however, smells like summer, if summer had a scent it’d be this. “Sicilian mandarin, bergamot and tangerine essential oils to help you look on the bright side of life!”

wpid-20150531_230337.jpg

3. Yuzu & Cocoa BubbleroonPrice £3.65 each – “With moisturising coconut oil and shea butter, Yuzu and Cocoa has a mood-brightening colour and scent thanks to a blend of citrus oils, with a chocolatey undertone.”

wpid-20150531_230315.jpg

4. Mmmelting Marshmalow Moment Bath Melt Price £3.95 each – WOW! Imagine the sweet smell of dolly mixture & you’ve got this scent to a T. I’m in love with it, it’s meant to be moisturising & nourising to dry/irritated skin. I cannot wait to try it!

wpid-20150531_230553.jpg

5. Dragons Egg Bath BombPrice £3.35 each – “Its scent is reminiscent of lemon sherbet, with a hint of jasmine.” It fizzes & crakles in your bath, revealing a colourful inside! – so excited to try it! 🙂

wpid-20150531_230537.jpg

6. Butterball Bath Bomb Price £2.65 each – “Once the cocoa butter pieces have melted, your skin will be coated by a light buttery film that smells good enough to eat.” – review to come on this product!! 🙂

wpid-20150531_221427.jpg

7. Fizzbanger Bath Bomb Price – £3.35 each – “It changes colour as it fizzes, crackling with popping candy as it goes and releasing first a citrussy apple and then a cinnamon, apple pie like scent with a hint of ylang ylang.”

wpid-20150531_230620.jpg

8. Hello Gorgeous Gift BoxPrice £22.95 – My best friend & I purchased this together for another friends birthday. It has a variety of different products in the box, I think this is a FAB birthday present 🙂 (check out the website to see whats inside!!)

wpid-20150531_230635.jpgAll products have been linked to the Lush website! ♥

Let me know if you’ve tried any of these.. as I haven’t tried most of them, hence why I bought them! 😉

Whats your favourite Lush product?? 🙂

Makeup of the day

Makeup Of The Day!♥

Hi beauties. ☼

YES! Finally a makeup of the day, oh how I’ve missed these! *like this post to see more!!* 🙂

So, yesterday I decided to have a play around with my eyeshadows, well my beloved Sleek Au Naturel palette. The look I came up with was quite simple looking, but I LOVE it. I created matte eyes, with a flawless base & nude lips!

To be honest, I’ve been obsessed with matte eyeshadow over shimmers recently. It looks more subtle & wearable for everyday wear, especially as I wasn’t going anywhere fancy, just running some errands.

Right, enough babbling, lets get on with the look…

wpid-20150311_105957.jpg

I didn’t picture each step, it is that simple, there’s a few colours used but only with a light hand, as I wanted a subtle matte contour to the eye!

Firstly, I put a wash of the colour ‘nougat’ all over the lids, right upto the brow bone, this just gives an even colour to work on top; making blending so much easier!

I then went in with ‘toast’ in my crease as the transition shade. This just gives darker colours a transition, making blending (yes, you’ll see the key to this look is blending!!) effortless. I use windscreen wiper motions to blend the colour into my crease, I blend this colour to the point where my eyebrows start (shown below).

matteyes1

To deepen up the crease a bit I went in with a mix of ‘nubuck’ and ‘cappuccino’ over the top of ‘toast, I only used a small amount at a time & built up the intensity until I got to the desired effect. With this look (& most other eyeshadow work) blending is the absolute key, also building up colour is essential, as the end look will look far more seamless than if you try blend a ton of colour from the get go!

Once you’ve reached your desired intensity I like to go in with an even darker shade; just to give that extra definition to the very outer corners. To do this I used ‘regal’, this is my favourite shade in this palette, it makes my green eyes POP! I place a small amount right in the outer corner & blend it into the crease, but not all the way into the inner corners like the other colours, only about half way!

wpid-20150311_105948.jpg

To finish the look off I but ‘regal’ along the lower lashline & added a generous amount of my Kiko mascara (comment if you’d like to see a review!!) to my top & bottom lashes. This just defines the lashes & balances the bottom of the eyes with the top half.

Sleek Oh So Special Palette & Swatches!♥

Hi beauties. ☼ After purchasing my first Sleek Makeup eyeshadow palette I decided to create a swatches post so you can see what shades this palette includes. I also wanted to share with you my love of Sleek & I highly recommend you try the brand if you haven’t (especially their eyeshadows). However, there is one product I cannot get along with (more about this in an upcoming post!!) Anyway, here we go…

wpid-20141002_173632.jpg

Firstly, here’s the packaging for the palette, I love the idea of the loose eyeshadow design on the front, it looks fab! There are also tips on how to apply the eyeshadow on the back of the box. I think this is great, especially if you’re a beginner with makeup 🙂

The packaging for the actual palette is very ‘Sleek’, as the name would suggest. It is a soft plastic, which tends to cling to other makeup & get dirty, but hey-ho, it looks pretty!

wpid-20141002_173600.jpg

Here are the colours in the palette. As you can see there is quite a wide range of colours, which I love, it means I can get a shed load of looks just from this palette 🙂

In the first half of the palette we have pinky purple shades & the other half has more wearable browns & taupes to make the look more wearable or deepen it up for an evening look!

In this palette there are 5 shimmery shades & 7 matte shades. This is great as the darker crease shades are matte, I prefer this as matte shadows are better at giving definition to the eye. Also, the white colour is matte, I love using this as a subtle highlight!

If you’d like to see a look I created with this palette, then go to my previous sleek post here.

Here are the swatches of the top line of eyeshadows…

Review: Rimmel 25 hour Lasting Finish Nude Foundation!♥

Hi beauties. ☼

After receiving a sample of the Rimmel 25 hour Lasting Finish Nude Foundation in this months cosmopolitan, I thought it’d be a great opportunity to review it for you all & let you know my first impressions 🙂

I think this is a modified version of the Rimmel 25 hour Lasting Finish Foundation, which I did use during my school years. I seem to remember that I enjoyed it, but anyway lets see what I thought of this foundation…

Here is the sample I got:

wpid-20140903_180154.jpg

What Rimmel claims:

Medium coverage foundation that feels hydrating and moisturizing

– Lightweight formula blends instantly into the skin creating a nude, poreless effect
– Sweat, heat, humidity and transfer proof for up to 25 hours

– SPF 20

Do I agree with these claims?

I agree that this foundation is a medium coverage that is hydrating & moisturising. When I applied this foundation it didn’t cling to any dry patches, spots or sink into any pores. It was smooth & felt hydrating on the skin, like you aren’t wearing any foundation!

Therefore, I agree that this is a lightweight formula which blends instantly. I used my Real Techniques Buffing Brush (click here for a review!), with this it blended seamlessly & effortlessly.

Here is what the foundation looked like when it was first applied…

wpid-20140903_180115.jpg

It looks really nice, it’s a pretty good colour match (100 Ivory), although if I did repurchase I would get a shade lighter! Overall, I like how it looked on my skin!

Here is how the foundation looked when it was powdered & I’d added contour/blush…

wpid-20140903_180615.jpg

However, despite the amazing application & feel I wasn’t pleased with the lasting power, even though I did set the foundation with powder, contoured & added blush (which did look great!) For me the foundation seemed to fade off within a few hours. It started to get patchy on my forehead & around my nose, usually the places I’m most oily. Despite the fact these are my most oily places, other foundations I’ve used stay a lot better than this did. It did disappoint me as I used to enjoy it in school, although I do remember having problems with the staying power then.

Here is how the foundation looked at the end of the day…

wpid-20140903_232816.jpg

As you can see my skin looks pretty shiny, redness is showing through on my forehead & around my nose. However, my contour/blush seems to have stayed pretty well. FYI I hadn’t powdered throughout the day.

Shade range

This foundation has a decent shade range. There are 8 shades, ranging from light porcelain to natural beige! It does cater for very pale people, but not so much for people with deeper skin tones, which is sad! Maybe one day Rimmel will bring out darker shades 🙂

8shades

This foundation retails for £7.99 here in the UK. I think this is a good foundation if you’re only going to be wearing it for a short amount of time. However, if you’re in the market for a long lasting foundation, that’ll stay all day, then this is probably not the one for you! My skin is oily, so I couldn’t say how it’d last on dry skin, so if you have dry skin maybe it’ll work better for you as it did stay well on the less oily places of my face 🙂

Have you tried this foundation? If so, let me know what you thought of it below! 🙂

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this review, if you’ve got any my questions please leave a comment below!

Thanks for reading beauties, have a fabulous day xo

Hair

I died my hair, again!!♥

Hi beauties. ☼

The other night I was dying my hair & thought ‘why don’t I do a blog post about it’. So here it is, this is me re-dying my hair. I’ve just refreshed my roots, I naturally have dark blonde hair but dye it lighter.

My hair is very thick, as I said I’m naturally dark blonde, my hair is medium length & is in a pretty healthy condition as I like to look after my hair.

If you’d like a post on how I keep my hair healthy then please let me know.

Anyway on with today’s post. The hair dye I have always used is the Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Colour in 10.1 (when I first started dying it lighter I didn’t jump straight into this very light shade so bare that in mind!). I absolutely love this dye, it looks so natural & leaves my hair feeling so nourished, it’s amazing!

image

I only ever used a different dye once, it was a L’Oréal one which I absolutely hated it didn’t do anything to my hair. Complete waste of money!!

image

image

Here you can see my dark, natural roots showing through. Obviously this was the worst part of my hair so I always start by applying most product in the roots & spread the rest throughout the lengths of my hair.

image

This is everything you get in the dye box. If you’ve never used this dye before there’s instructions, so don’t fear 🙂 To begin you mix the tube of colour to the bottle, shake well & apply to the hair. I apply this thickly to my roots & spread whatever is left through the lengths!

image

It looks pretty gross when it’s on, as you can see above. But it’ll turn out just fine, I promise. Well mine does anyway 😉

image

Once you have waited the allotted amount of time, depending on how you do it. I always leave mine on for 25-30 mins!! You need to wash it out, I usually wash the dye out until I cannot feel it in my hair, you’ll know what I mean. It feels very greasy & claggy!! I then just use the conditioner which comes with the dye to put moisture back into my hair.

image

image

Here’s how it turned out. What do you beauties think? Let me know if you have any more questions, I’m always happy to answer them ♥

Thanks for reading beauties, have a fabulous day xo
